UPDATED: JUN 3, 2020 Pours a hazy yellow color with fizzy and peculiarly clumpy white head. It may not be too flattering to say but the aroma is reminiscent of lemon cleaning solution. Tastes kind of salty and sour with a little citrus. Has a nice clean finish but it almost tastes like a tangy margarita and beer hybrid.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2020 As the hot season kicks in, it's also the time of the year I most enjoy a refreshing Gose. This is a classic one, and a rare 'non-flavored' one. Pours clear golden, fluffy head, with moderate retention, a little of lacing. Nose of salty water, dried lime, citrus peel, bread. Tastes slightly tart and salty, citrus notes over bread crust. Light, crisp and refreshing. Although not as fashionable as more modern flavoured Gose, this is a pretty solid step-brother who watches the kids when in the playground.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2019 Pours light yellow. It has a tart aroma and flavor. There’s salt and hints of citrus. It really is quite tart but in a good way.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2019 Can pour into pub glass from Total Wine & More, Danvers. Appearance is mildly hazy pale yellow with fair sparkle overall (effervescent sparkle at one edge of the glass, zero in most places), fizzy, three-finger width off-white crackling head (couldn't pour full beer into glass), with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is mild both sweet and tart fruit (like a sweet tart candy). Taste is more tart than sweet fruit (sort of like a Granny Smith or McIntosh apple or a tart Chardonnay), mild citrus. Palate is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste with aftertaste reminiscent of what I remember St. Joseph baby aspirin to have tasted like. Not into the style but it's pretty palatable to me, which is saying something.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2019 2nd sample that I tried in this style in the last few weeks. This one has a stronger flavor than the first one I tried from a local brewery called Rapp. Not balanced as well though, nor as smooth. Lots of tart/sour here and seems a bit saltier. A cloudy medium pale yellow appearance. Wishing that I discovered this style during the spring/summer season...but there's always next year!

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2019 355ml Flasche. Gelbes Bier, luftiger Schaum. Rieslingduft. Dazu Cidre. Sehr salziger und saurer Antrunk. Apfel, Traube. Hat was von saurem Wein. Im Abgang ein Hauch Holz.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2019 Not a strong aroma. Has a nice light golden color, not a lot of foam. Very salty and bitter. Has some citrus flavor after the bitterness.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2019 Pours clear golden with a thin white head, heavy carbonation apparent. Lactic aroma. Tart, citrus influence on the tongue drowned out by lactic notes from fermentation. Palate is dry and relatively plain.
