UPDATED: DEC 3, 2020 500ml bottle (Mead Museum webshop, Prague) (6:4:7:3:13=3.3) That's the 2nd one you got wrong, Marduk, but thanks for entering it! Gold, still, as expected. Massive clove aroma, sweet, like mulled christmas drinks, but the clove dominates. Smooth palate, gently sugary honey. Less spicy taste, mellow flowery honey, more balanced mulled spiciness. Finish quite clovey and a bit numbing. A bit unsophisticated, a good mead spoilt by spices. Rerate: Same bottle, 2 weeks later (6:3:7+:4:15=3.5+) Aroma still the same, clove less prominent. More balanced mince pie taste, sweet dark currants, some mixed peel, which gives it a nice zesty bite. Amazingly mellow despite the quite bold character. Apimed get another thumbs up from me.
