Idiosynkrasie (13823) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JAN 13, 2014
500ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, dark amber colour with huge, frothy to macropore, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity hoppy and yeasty aroma, hints of red berries, apricot, peach, a minimally spicy, peppery yeasty touch, caramel malty basis. Taste is less explicit and intense fruity; dry, minimally smoky finish, slightly watery middle part, (too) livey carbonation. Nice fruity touch, very cautiously smoky, carbonation blocks a more intense taste.

Quack-Duck (11277) - Down South, GERMANY - DEC 28, 2013
bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Hazy amber colour, mid-sized off-white head. Shy smoky nose. Medium-bodied, malty with a shy touch of fruit, some faint smoky flavours in the far background. Expected it to be more smoky, nevertheless this is very, very tasty!

jmgreenuk (16022) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - NOV 19, 2013
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is strong yeast, almost medicinal band aid and woody. The flavour is medium bitter with a strange, fairly unpleasant yeasty, slightly smoky palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a long weird bitter finish.

Almost clear amber beer with a big pale cream coloured head. Palate is minerally crisp. Good orange and tangerine citric hops. Goes well with the lightly smoky malt. Finishes with thin creamy malt and minerals. Decent.

Fin (15185) - Attenkirchen, Bavaria, GERMANY - SEP 15, 2013
Bottle picked up at ’Jacks’, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon. Consumed at home Sunday 15th September 2013 Cloudy amber/muddy light brown colour. Fresh, tingly nose, I would have hoped to have detected a little smokiness but I can’t. Taste is fresh, clean, soft carbonation late subtle smokiness and even a unintentional nod to Orval in the finish. This comes across as a more saison style beer to me, its fine but no great shakes. olio (14442) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 10, 2013
50 cl bottle. BBE 31.03.2014.
Pours amber color with a huge frothy head. Aroma is surprisingly strong with smoke, some grass, yeast notes and hops also. Flavor of smoky malts, caramel, mild wet hay, hops and faint goose berries at the end, distant yeast also. Medium carbonation, light-bodied, mildly bitter. I didn’t actually have that high hopes for this one but it managed to surprise me. The smokiness works very well considering the light body. Nice.

Bottle @ The Train Tasting Pt II, closing out a big day in the midlands. The pour’s amber with a small head. The nose is peaches, pear. Sweet yeastiness. The taste is mild smoke, chocolate. Prune and plum fruits. Sort of a disjointed set of flavors, but not unappealing. Light body, fine carbonation.
