UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 can. sampled to see what an Non-Alcoholic IPA was all about. Better than expected, no doubt. Would consider in future for misc reasons

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2022 Canned, orange color with short lived foam, fruity dry nose and n papery body but not too bad for NA ,

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 It pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large white long lasting head. It has the aroma of grapefruit and tropical fruit. It has a nice bitterness and tastes just like a west cost IPA but with a thin body. These make my dry January much nicer.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2021 Canned 9/3/21, drunk 12/26/21. Clear brass with a hint of chill haze. Medium-sized white head fades steadily to a messy ring. Tangerine, peach and mild pine with strong fruity yeast and a touch of sourdough like maltiness. Black pepper and dried herb. Soft, lightly to moderately bitter. Black pepper, unripe peach and hints of orange and lemon juice and rind. Very dry, and to that effect, maybe a bit too dry and lighter bodied than I'd prefer. But the flavors are good for an old school IPA without too much pine or overly dry/acidic citrus. For your flagship beer, and an NA in particular, however, this is fantastic, and Athletic has well-earned its popularity.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2021 355ml can sample. Mostly clear amber. Aroma is weird; there’s a musty, barnyard, mild rotting fruit note to it. Flavour is fairly solid for a take on an old school West Coast IPA. Decent body. I’m necessarily sure I’d peg it as alcohol free. Overall, it’s a basic tasting beer, but it does AF well, but that weird aroma is offputting.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2021 Surprised by this, enjoyed while going through a period where I’m trying to give up alcohol but still enjoy beer. I can’t say its “just like the real thing” but its pretty damn close. Tastes like a run of the mill IPA, nothing exemplary about it, but if you want an IPA but can’t have alcohol this is a great option. Hopefully more brewers attempt to make N/A versions of their flagship brews.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 12oz can appropriately drank the night before an ultra race. Very surprised by how good this was considering the almost zero alcohol. Not quite as tasty as a regular craft beer but not too far off either.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2021 Drank this right from the can, why waste a glass? They say its hazy, I'll accept that. I got it from a Weiss in Biden Country Scranton, pretty flakey place like the Brandon. Nose is slightly rotten skunk cabbage. Yes, first taste is that of skunk cabbage session IPA, whew. Why even make stuff like this? A rude ass bitter straight up session IPA that is supposed to quench yer hankerin for an IPA with out any alky? Go figger. I aint drinken an IPA for flavor, I drink it to catch a buzz and this does not do it: There, you have it, a big fat bitter unusual tick worth nothing but a BS zero as a tick.

Drake (18900) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2021
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2021 12 ounce can from Woodman's Appleton, 8/13/21. Hazy amber, medium frothy white head, good retention. Aroma of dank, grapefruit, resin. Taste is bitter piney hops, dry grapefruit, finishing in mango. A bit thin, strong lingering bitterness. Wouldn't know this was a NA beer if they hadn't told me. Could use more malt, but well done.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2021 N/A beers have come a loooong way in the last decade. This is another example that from the looks and appearance you simply could not tell it's not a craft IPA. The aroma is citrus hops and a bit of biscuit. The appearance is hazy gold with a large foamy head. The taste has more hops than any near beer I have had to date. The palate is actually smooth. Overall this is an outstanding job from this brewer to essentially make a craft N/A beer that stands up to the full octane. My one issue with this beer is with a bitter soapy taste that runs thought out. No doubt this is from a generous hopping and some will like it but none the less it's not pleasant.
