COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You hear Sumo you think big. So thats what we did. 4 hour boil to build a strong body, we then rested this for 5 days on Sumatra Coffee, Cocoa nibs and Madagascar vanilla bean. The outcome is just that, BIG flavors. Sneaky smooth and very drinkable for this high of an ABV beer.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 12 oz. Aroma has notes of chocolate milk, vanilla, coffee, dark bread. Pours black with a one finger beige head that falls into a ring fairly quick. Taste is moderately sweet with a light to moderate bitter edge. Flavors of dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee. A tasty coffee stout.

AirForceHops (12438) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 21, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2021 16 oz. can. Aroma is huge cocoa, Sumatran coffee with vanilla. Flavor is an exact reflection of the aroma. Alcohol is pretty hidden. Body is a little thinner than I expected the style. But it’s well-made.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2021 Can (1/7/21) pour from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! It's an opaque black with no sparkle, thin cap of khaki head with poor retention and light rings of lacing. Aroma is strong coffee and vanilla. Taste is strong roasted coffee with moderate bitterness and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with lingering roasted bitterness. No hint of alcohol. Overall, strong flavor and aroma without huge complexity. Good balance between rich sweetness and bitter. Crazy it's this ABV!

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2020 Can pour, deep brown and thick pour. Strong vanilla and coffee aroma. Burnt coffee bitter up front with an odd aftertaste. That fades to nice vanilla and milk chocolate notes.

tmoreau (7963) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUN 28, 2020
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2020 12 oz. can poured to a fest chalice displaying a black/brown hue, with some amber highlighting at the base, a creamy layer of brownish tan froth that reduced rather quickly to a persistent ring, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was roasted, cocoa, brown sugar/dark caramel sweetness, with a touch of vanilla, and coffee to the back. Medium+ bodied, with a little spritz on the tongue, but mostly modest carbonation, the taste was similar notes, adding roasted bitterness with some earthy dryness that lingered, and decent alcohol content woven in.

ABUSEDGOAT (4006) - California, USA - MAR 18, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2020 Black with a large tan head that lasts. Aroma of a good coffee bomb with roast, chocolate, vanilla, added flavors. Aroma *almost* pushes a 9. Medium to full bodied, big delicious coffee flavor, roasted malt with vanilla, chocolate and nibs. The can is screaming that it's trying really hard, and it is, but it's really good and I'm happy they did. Not the best non BA imperial flavored stout, but in the running. That one from Oceanside I had in June was just unreal.
