jjsint (6133) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2022UPDATED: JAN 3, 2022 500ml bottle bought from Scrattings Cider and drunk at home. Mid- to dark gold, clear with a little bit of fizz. Tart apple skin in the aroma with a Funk of fruity fink. Gorgeous taste with apples and oak character. A bit of tartness in the finish, with some carbonation covering up the watery body. Oak notes in the aftertaste. The best of the ciders I've had lately.
Theydon_Bois (33079) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 17, 2021UPDATED: SEP 17, 2021 Bottle at Roger and Sue's, picked up from Aleway, 17/09/21.
Clear golden pour with a fast collapsing white cap.
Nose is crisp apple, vague funk, caramel, sweet notes.
Taste comprises bitter sweet apple, toffee, tannins, sugar dusting, apple skins.
Medium bodied, light prickly carbonation, moderate drying close.
Decent flavoursome cider ... could lose a little of the sweetness for me.
imdownthepub (22082) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 5, 2021UPDATED: APR 5, 2021 Bottled, 500ml from Slurp in Banbury, Oxon. Hazed gold with no head. I thought I would try some of the varietal ciders to see if there was some substance. This proved to be a pleasant, dry, lightly bitter apple cider, easy drinking on a warm Easter Sunday. There is a refreshing character to it. This seems the way forward for my faltering cider journey, the quality is obvious.
minutemat (11726) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2021UPDATED: MAR 9, 2021 500ml bottle from Cider Shack, shared with Soph. Lightly misty gold appearance. Pleasant medium yarlington fruit aroma. A touch of oak to taste provides nice Autumnal shades alongside some tannic moments and a warming caramelised apple glow. Nice Yarlington showcase.
