UPDATED: JUN 24, 2021 (500ml 2011 bottle from Systembolaget - consumed 2019) Pours clear deep copper with no head. Aroma of raw sugar, caramel, dried fruit, preserved figs, oxidized Madeira notes, soft spicebox and vanilla, soft wooden accents. Flavour is sweet with lots of cane sugar, raisins and cognac/sherry, some oxidation and nuttiness, rum-like spices, very smooth oaky tones, vanillin, warm but not by any means boozy for what it is, extremely concentrated with a long balanced port/Madeira-esque aftertaste. Full-bodied, very oily, flat. A fantastic beer, albiet one that recalls fortified wines much more than it does any 'typical' beer, even a barleywine. A smooth contemplative sipper that can't be rushed but is very rewarding, and thankfully very stable once opened too.

[ Vintage 2016 ] Malty and caramely with port wine, chocolate, oak and dried fruits like dates and raisins, really sweet, carbonation is flat, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is long with alcoholic notes.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2021 Flaska från systembolaget vintage 2016. Bärnstensfärgad öl med obefintligt skum. Väldigt trevlig öl med härliga toner av dadlar, choklad, trä, russin och karamell. Torr komplex avslutning.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2021 Wersja z 2014 roku. Nalewa się oleiście gęste. Słodkawy aromat, melasa, ciemne owoce, palony cukier i szlachetny alkohol. Niesamowicie gęste, pełne. Dużo się dzieje, słodkie, ale nie zaklejające. Sporo melasy, ciemnych owoców, wanilii. Bardzo dobrze ułożone. Cudo.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2020 Dark brown, zero head, looks rich and sticky. Aroma of caramel and dates, Christmas pudding. Taste is rich and warming, with complex flavours of dark fruit and lightly burnt fruit, like a fine Madeira. Luscious.
