UPDATED: JAN 5, 2022 Christmas present for my brother 2021, shared now with my family! Pours a deep and hazy ruby to brown, absolutely no head. Pours and looks like a port. Aroma is very complex, loads of oak, vanilla, fig and prune, light tobacco, leather, milk chocolate. Big body, no carbonation, mouthfeel also comes very close to a port. Flavour is extremely smooth, very sweet, malty. Intense tobacco, loads of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, oak. Chewy. Woah. Intense stuff, it's been a while since I've had a Xyayù, but it's still just as good. Amazing barley wine that borders on a fortified wine, extremely good.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 This cements the series as among the best barleywines ever produced by acclamation. 2011 version, very fresh tasting. Tabacco has mellowed to where it adds overt but not detracting flavour.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2021 Dziękuję Ola 😊. Kentucky 2016. Wygląd: Barwa miedziana, mocno opalizująca. Piany brak. Po zamieszaniu szkłem zauważalna oleista ciesz. Aromat: Dominuje karmel na wysokim poziomie wsparty średniowysokim toffi i daktylami. Na drugim planie miód, melasa, syrop klonowy i szlachetny alkohol na średnim poziomie. Całość uzupełnia średnioniska nuta ciemnego biszkoptu, mlecznej czekolady oraz subtelne akcenty kandyzowanej wiśni, pierniczków i specyficznej ziołowo-ziemistej nutki, ale ciężko odgadnąć, że to tytoń. Smak: Bardzo słodki, likierowy, mniej złożony. Przeważa intensywny karmel na wysokim poziomie. Dalej średnioniskie toffi, miód, orzechy w miodzie, nerkowce, mleczna czekolada i trochę syropu klonowego. W tle niskie taniny, beczka oraz delikatna wanilia. Tytoniu niestety nie stwierdzono. Całość spina średni, szlachetny alkohol miodu pitnego. W ustach bardzo słodkie – miodowe, treściwość średniowysoka, likierowa, gładziutka, wysycenia brak, średnie rozgrzewanie alkoholu. Goryczki brak. Finisz słodki, lekko rozgrzewający, karmelu, miodu pitnego i muśnięcia beczki, dębiny i ziół. Ogólnie: Bardzo słodkie, likierowe - początkowo wydaje się jednowymiarowe, karmelowe, toffiowe, ale przy dłuższym kontakcie zyskuje nieco złożoności (mlecznej czekolady, akcentów ziołowych). Na plus przyjemny szlachetny alkohol. Pomimo to jest zbyt słodkie, cukrowe i brakuje balansu. Tytoniu brak lub na granicy autosugestii.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2021 2014 version. Clear amber body with no head. Aroma is cinnamon, vanilla, raisins, some tobacco and wood. Taste is sweet, vanilla again, mild peaty notes, cherries, marzipan. Long sweet and wood finish. Medium body soft carbonation smooth texture.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 From 2015 bottle in lager glass to farewell John & Bonnie's house. Pours murky reddish brown w/no head (as expected), port-like aroma & sweetness. Tobacco was tough to pick, rich taste of dark dried fruits, vanilla, oak, cinnamon spice.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2021 Flaske. Sidste af de fire. Mørkere i farven. Stadig meget sød. Endimensionel. Blød og nærmest ovre i sake. Der er noget keg ikke får i disse øl. Virkelig underwhelmed

Taste: heavy sweet & moderate bitter, vanilla, fruity, oaky, caramel, toffee, dried fruits. Super smooth. Medium to full body with low/np carbonation. Amazing

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2021 2015 version. Pours clearish cinnamon, minimal head. Aroma features cinnamon, caramel and toasty malt. Flavor provides sweet cinnamon, toasted malt and caramel. Texture yields fair body and peppy fizz. Amazing.
