COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Big Eye IPA is a big hoppy brew, thanks to the abundance of American Columbus and Centennial varieties we use to flavor and dry hop. While the English originally added extra hops to preserve their beers for sea travel, we do it for the love of all that bold, intense flavor that makes India Pale Ale one of our favorite styles.

Beese (12774) - Tooting, London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2019
355ml bottle in 2015. Bright amber with an offwhite head. Aroma of big pithy hops, citrus, lemon zest, pine and biscuity malt. Really good balance of big bitterness, with a gentle malty backbone that adds some dried fruit sweetness and the alcohol plays nicely.

AgentAle (2819) - Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 20, 2019
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2019 Aroma is caramel, honey and dank hops. Taste is a solid balance of vegetal and earthy hops met with a good malty back. Solid.

BineTun39 (1) - - MAY 13, 2019 does not count
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2019 Nice darker amber IPA with medium hoppiness and a rich finish and no bitter after taste or overly citrusy or fruity hipster flavors to ruin it, just a good solid purist IPA. Tastes best from a pint glass. Too bad BP ruined the marketing and distribution of this beer in favor of their more expensive beers. You pretty much can't find this beer anymore on the shelves. Maybe in the tasting rooms still.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2019 Not bad, not my favourite from Ballast Point, but I would never knock one back. Firm bitterness, but too much the same as so many others

Jabah (2479) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - MAR 15, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 15, 2019 Sampled this the same night, after their Sculpin IPA. They are very similar, but the Sculpin just has a better flavor/balance. This is decent though (still on the hoppy side). Kind of forgettable with so many out there. Probably a pass on this one in the future.

beer_rookie (1102) - Arkansas, USA - AUG 26, 2018
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2018 Pours an orange amber color. One finger cream colored head. Reduces to a film but leaves nice lacing.

Aroma is earthy and resiny hops. Some malt, but hop heavy.

Taste is resin, earthy hops.

Mouthfeel is full bodied. Heavy, hoppy. Dry.

Overall it's okay. Wouldn't buy it again. Boring. Meh.

stantheman (2015) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 26, 2018
A bomber from BCLS in Greater Vancouver. A dark amber beer with generous beige head and a lovely fruity nose. Slightly citrus piney hop forward with big malts close behind. Great balance. 4.2
