San Diego IPA
The Sculpin IPA is a testament to our humble beginnings as Home Brew Mart. Founded in 1992, the Mart continues to be a catalyst for the San Diego brewing scene, setting the trend for handcrafted ales. Inspired by our customers, employees and brewers, the Sculpin IPA is bright with aromas of apricot, peach, mango and lemon. Its lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. This delicious Ballast Point Ale took a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival in the Pro Am category. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the most tasty. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point India Pale Ale.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2021 Had it many times, never bothered to review until today. Pours a clear pumpkin color with a stable eggshell head. Nose is citrus and malt galore, resin, nectarine. Crisp and clean, rich malts, well balanced with lingering citrus bitterness.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2021 Fint, tätt skum som håller ok. Ngt grumlig i färg av äppeljuice. Svag citrusdoft. Smak med tall, citrus, hint av kola. Tydlig och trevlig beska från start som håller en bra bit in i eftersmaken.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2021 Aroma: Citrus aroma of hops, tropical fruit, mango Appearance: golden body, very beautiful Taste: very refreshing to drink, sweet mango tropical fruits, fresh citrus, and slightly pine needle taste, moderate body, no pressure to drink, the end of the hop bitterness is moderate. Feeling: the date of drinking is January 2017, and it's great to drink it in two months of canned food in China, with high cost performance and just good alcohol content. It's great as a summer ration.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2021 Canned: 15.11.20 r.; Wypite: 31.03.21 r. Wygląd: Barwa złota, klarowna. Piana biała, średniej wysokości, głównie średniopęcherzykowa, opada do ostatniej warstwy, pozostawia lekki lacing. Aromat: Średnio lotny, słodowo - chmielowy. Na średnioniskim poziomie morela, brzoskwinia, mango, pomarańcza wraz z słodowością chlebową, biszkoptową z lekkim toffi. Smak: Na pierwszym planie średniowysoka żywica wsparta słodowością chlebowo-biszkoptową z lekkim toffi na średnim poziomie. Owoców chmielowych praktycznie brak. W ustach półsłodkie, treściwość średnia, wysycenie średnioniskie. Goryczka średniowysoka, żywiczna, łodygowa, zalegająca. Finisz półwytrawny z zalegającą, ale niedrapiącą goryczką. Ogólnie: Średnio lotny aromat, tofiowe nuty i zalegająca, łodygowa goryczka wskazują na utlenienie.

JuiceStain (12) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 15, 2020
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2020 Orange/honey coloured slightly hazy body. Citrus and pine on nose, mangos and oranges! Tastes of citrus throughout, pine and lemon. Malt is faint but it's still there. The sweetness comes forward with each sip. Hops last very long on the palate. I'd recommend this to anyone. Great beer

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2020 Cask at GBBF, Earl’s Court on 05/08/2011. A really good beer. Some sweeter, dried fruits on the nose, which mix well with danker hop notes. Initial malty and fruity flavours give way to rising bitterness in the linger.
