AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 billb (245) - Acworth, Georgia, USA - APR 30, 2000A lighter beer for those with a distinguished palate. Nice appearance, fair aroma, but great drinkability.
GregMooreNH (6520) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 15, 2021UPDATED: JUN 15, 2021 Pours clear golden with a two finger, white head. Aroma is caramel, light hops and bread. Taste is caramel, moving the bread and grassy hops. Finish is the same.
Nekronos (4654) - Xalapa, MEXICO - AUG 11, 2020UPDATED: AUG 11, 2020 Quite similar than the UK one. A little more hopy and less cask-like perhaps. Nice to drink and enjoy.
DruncanVeasey (10318) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 19, 2020UPDATED: JUN 19, 2020 355ml from Tesco. Approaching this with a wide open mind (really) but it’s important: an 80p cheapie from Tesco but a facet of English beer’s presentation in the US. I want it to taste good. It doesn’t; dissolvable painkillers, bicarbonate, wet tissue, caramel boiled sweets. Aroma better; Allsorts, watered pastis, dried grass, cake. Cask Bass doesn’t rip up trees but does retain some quintessential balance and restraint. The flavour here is unforgivable. Like drinking toilet roll. Embarrassing.
ChrisOfstad (5258) - Hamar, NORWAY - JUN 6, 2020UPDATED: JUN 6, 2020 0,33 litre Bottle from Old Cellar Collection. BBF 2002. Amber with no head. Oxidation, malts, sweetness.
TkmLinus (628) - POOLER, Georgia, USA - MAR 10, 2020UPDATED: MAR 10, 2020 12 oz bottle. Smell is mostly of malts, caramel and toffee with perhaps a fleeting hint of pine. Dark amber in color and clear. On the sweet side, tastes of toffee with a hint of hops. Sweet finish with a hint of bitter attempting to show through. Guess I am more used to APA's but this was just a touch too rich and sweet for me.
allmyvinyl (15436) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 10, 2020UPDATED: FEB 10, 2020 Bottle from Tesco. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of cinder toffee and malt. Taste is astringent malt and toffee. Sweet finish.
BlackHaddock (12580) - The County Time Forgot, Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2020UPDATED: JAN 18, 2020 Bottle in the Marlin Club, Avolon, Catalina Island on 8th Jan 2020. Decent Pale Ale all round, got enough hops to battle with the malty base and just about the right blend of bitterness to keep you interested without blowing your head off with too many hops or stupid additives.
PubRespek15 (417) - Moelv, NORWAY - DEC 21, 2019UPDATED: DEC 21, 2019 A nice tasty beer, a little watery maybe, but a still enjoyable.
I prefer this one tap.
jw0406 (1758) - atlanta, Georgia, USA - DEC 20, 2019UPDATED: DEC 20, 2019 12 oz bottle pours an amber color with a small white head. Aromas of malt, caramel, light citrus. LIght bodied, a nice beer.
siyul (12) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - NOV 9, 2019UPDATED: NOV 9, 2019 A very historical beer, but the quality didn't quite match. Lack of richness from the malt makes it a little watery. I definitely will have London Pride or ESB rather than this next time.
