COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beau’s Farm Table Series are sessionable beers inspired by tradition and brewed true to a classic style. Dunkel is a malty Bavarian dark lager with a balanced, reserved hop presence. At 5.7%, this traditional German beer is crisp and highly drinkable, with a rich, malt-forward taste. Dunkel is truly the ideal beer for those who love both the roasted characteristics of a dark beer and the clean finish of a lager. TECHNICAL SPECS ALC/VOL: 5.7% INGREDIENTS: Local spring water, organic barley malts, organic hops, brewer’s yeast. MALTS: Munich, Caraunich, Acidulated, Caraaroma, Carafa (all organic) HOPS: Organic Pacific Gem, Organic Triskel YEAST: German Lager Yeast IBU’S: 25 OG: 13 FG: 2.7 SERVING TEMP.: 4-6 C GLASSWARE: Stein HISTORY & STYLE: Among the most appropriately named styles of beer, the term “dunkel” is the German word for “dark.” Dunkel’s history stretches back to the Bavarian Purity Act of 1516, which decreed that brewers use only barley, hops and water in beer-making – clearing a path for the dunkel, which met both these standards and satisfied the palates of the people of Munich. This traditional Bavarian lager rose in prominence, with a legacy that remains to this day. Dunkel is luscious and toasty in flavour, yet with smooth lager crispness. TASTING NOTES: Dunkel pours mahogany with a billowy white foam. The aroma offers mocha and bread crust notes. The flavour features deep malt impressions with hints of chocolate. This medium bodied dark lager has a clean finish. FOOD PAIRINGS: Lollipop chicken legs with tandoori spice and seasoned basmati rice; marinated cheese and olives in spicy citrus oil with crusty bread; banana cream trifle; layers of buttery cookies soaked in coffee syrup, fresh cream and fresh bananas topped with crushed toasted pecans.

Bottle. Cloudy cola-brown body, medium beige head with good retention and plenty of lacing. Aroma of raisins, banana bread, prunes and cocoa. Taste of well-done toast, roasted malts, prunes, hints of licorice and some woodsy notes. Well done.

Like it! Nice take on Dunkel. 600 ml bottle, lcbo TO. Pours dark brown, with a medium bubbly head, little retention. Nice balance of sweetness and bitterness. Finishes with a bit of pepper. Will buy again. These guys brew some tasty beers.

Aroma of chocolate dominates, pours a rich dark brown colour with considerable foamy head. Smooth tastes of malt and clean finish. Not a lager fan but this dark lager was a treat! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Picked before Christmas, I forget where. This beer is nothing fancy, well balanced, simply good.

Dark, malty, full bodied and warming without compromise. Had peppering of ripened cheese in the aftertaste.

Light fruit and raisin, a bit of bread. Tends to be sweet rather than balanced - also not very solid, tastes diluted. Tap at Only Cafe.

(Tap) hazy, bright brown colour with a small beige head; aroma of jam; clean, simple balanced flavour with a long, very light bitter finish

(Emb. 01/19/17 Lot 5863) (2369-301017)

Sweet roasted malt, chocolate and a hint of fruity hops on the nose. Taste leads with rich balanced elements - European malt with caramel, a touch of dark berries and coffee. Doesn't become overly sweet though. Finishes with a clean but flavourful blend of dark malty tastes.
