Torontoblue (104) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 13, 2018Spicy, herbal, fresh coffee grinds, dark chocolate, oily aromas. Rich, bitter coffee and dark chocolate flavours, with a slight liquorice, herbal backbone. Bitter, spicy hops. Oily, acrid, bitter mouthfeel, with a really long bitter finish.
Oakes (26757) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 31, 2018Dark brown. Thin head. Liquorice, tarry notes, dark chocolate- the nose holds quite a bit of appeal for me. Lots of coffee on the palate with dark fruits, alcohol, substantial bitterness... more of a classic impy on the palate. Assertive coffee and bitterness suits me fine.

The beer pours a solid black colour with a generous bubbly brown head which takes a while to dissipate. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, and plums. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is strong coffee, some dark chocolate.rounded out with some caramel sweetness.
Nurmis (1979) - Oulu, FINLAND - MAR 31, 20180,6l bottle. Pours black with small tanned creamy head. Coffee, roasted malts. Bit ashy. Dry. Cant taste the alcohol.
neroaga (118) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 17, 2018A dark stout with a thick creamy head. It's strong but not overpowering like other imperial stouts
azzurro (1954) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 16, 2018I do think that this beer is well done. Good balance with the coffee and chocolate. The coffee is a bit overpowered. This beer in bourbon barrel must be worth its money. Picked at LCBO in mid-December.
DuffMan (10981) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 6, 2018Bottle shared with the group at poker night. Near-black with a dense brown head. Rich coffee, deep roast, nuances of dark dried fruits and sweet spices. Rich and velvety. Excellent.
daniel0017 (489) - Yukon, CANADA - JAN 27, 2018Too divided on this one. Might be a beer geek's muse but it simply sickens me, explanations to come: I'm a big time coffee aficionado. Love beer too but the two don't mix. The [ work (coffee) / respite (beer) ] dichotomy I guess. It's black as soot with a thick, bubbly head. Cafe Americano, ash smoke, peat and cardamom to the nose. Flavor too reminiscent of my stress filled day. It's a cold coffee. iced coffee is sacrilegious. P'tui and God bless!
stantheman (2015) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 26, 2018On tap at Rogue Wetbar in Gastown Vancouver. Very dark with moderate tan head and sweet coffee nose. Wow, this is rich! Very heavily roasted coffee notes abound, leaving a dry bitter note on the tongue. Nice. 4
CRock (436) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 22, 2018Nice coffee stout. Just a solid beer for any occasion, but nothing out of the ordinary.
