Ferris (23109) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 17, 2018Bottle - Chocolate, maple and coconut. Deep brown with a beige head. Coconut and chocolate with some maple sweetness. Not much coffee for me.
Oakes (26757) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 17, 2018Bottle. Medium brown. On the nose, nutty coffee, I mean that really comes across like peanuts, mellow coconut (toasted, I guess), and yeah, a little bit of maple. This has medium body, nutty again, coconut... I mean all the elements are there. But definitely the base is kind of light, and doesn't have the residual sugars that make the pastry thing so effective in stronger stouts.
Dogbrick (17956) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 4, 2018Sample at the North Park taproom. Dark brown color with some chestnut around the edges, and a medium beige head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lace. Aroma of coconut, roast malt and coffee. Light-boded with flavors of toasted coconut, coffee and malt. The finish is roasty with a coconut and coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.
stevoj (12142) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 28, 2018Bomber from Brewers Haven. Dark brown, mahogany pour, scant head. Aroma us sweet, Maple. Taste brings forward some if the cinnamon, but the maple dominates. Little bit if coffee towards the back. Body seems thin. Coconut? Not getting it.
poisoneddwarf (4653) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - APR 27, 2018Bomber. Aroma is roasty, vanilla, coffee, coconut, maple syrup--smells scrumptious. Pours brown with amber highlights and a one finger beige head with good retention; falls into a skiff and collar that never goes away and laces the glass. Taste is sweet, not cloying. Flavors are like the aroma; the maple syrup is more in the background. Body seems a bit thin, mouthfeel is creamy/watery. Tasty af.
slowrunner77 (19086) - Reno, Nevada, USA - MAR 30, 2018Medium brown pour on tap. That NOSE! Coconut really pops with coffee and a touch of maple in a supporting role (9.5). The flavor doesn't quite come together as well as it's a touch overly sweet and more generic, but still quite pleasant (7.5). Really nice for a brown ale.
