COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the earliest examples of the Russian Imperial Stout in the United States, Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with vintage aging in mind, as its profile will continue to mature and develop over the years. A huge malt body is matched to a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruits, and other aromas. Intensely bitter in its early months, the flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages. Available October-March.

MaltOne (592) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 24, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2021 Excellent cellar worthy stout - drink some now, save some for another season. Serve closer to room temp... complexity gets muted if over chilled (also, a bit ashy when too cold). Thick, dark coffee brown with a brown frothy head. Almost a liqueur of beer. Deep roasted malts - licorice, coffee, alcohol. Don't know why this hasn't gotten on my list earlier - been buying it for years

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2021 Amazing RIS, on tap, 12 oz. pours inky dark brown with large brown head that dissipates gently to settle on the rim. Nondescript nose, but smokiness does prevail. Taste is a delicious powerhouse of leathery tobacco chew, smoke, molasses, leather, raisins, chocolate and vanilla (at cooler temps), smooth viscous mouthfeel. Outstanding, world class, would not hesitate to have again. The only thing this beer doesn’t have is a powerful nose, but subtlety is good!

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2021 OMG! Chocolate, coffee, toffee and bitter vanilla. Roasted toasty flavors. What a delicious RIS. Served in a pint glass but was still able to elicit great aromas. Alcohol is there but takes a back seat to the immense flavors.

Bebum (1620) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 4, 2021
UPDATED: APR 12, 2021 Opaque, medium size head slow to die. Sweet chocolate aromas on nose. Full body, the most I have ever tasted, dense flavor, clearcut heat and carbonation on mouthfeel, eternal aftertaste, perfect taste on finish. Intense but powerful bittersweet style, discrete acidity to allow freshness. Divine flavor, chocolate, coffee, toffee. Beats most stouts. Jan, April 2021

frozencemetery (38) - Massachusetts, USA - DEC 18, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2020 Pours thick, brown-black. Low head which is medium brown and fades to a thin ring. Overall appearance is viscous and intriguing. Aroma of cocoa and chocolate with a slight hint of alcohol. Rich taste of coffee/cocoa and bitter chocolate with bitter hops on the finish. Hints of sweet malt quickly balanced with robust hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is thick and slippery; thickness lingers. No noticable alcohol burn from this. Quite good. (Bottled 2020-12-10)

UPDATED: APR 4, 2020 Nalewa się czarne, piana niewielka, brązowa. W aromacie ciemne słody, czekolada deserowa, kawa, paloność. Smak to gorzka czekolada, palone słody, trochę kakao, jest tez nuta orzecha. Alko dobrze ukryte, finiszu długi czekoladowo-palony. Taki ris w starym stylu, bardzo dobrze wykonany.
