COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the richly varied domain of prokaryotic microorganisms, Jelly King reigns supreme. Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop (Citra, Amarillo, and Cascade), harnessing the pleasing acidity of lactic acid producing bacteria (we use a 5-strain house blend), and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky 2 year slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of having your cake and eating it too. This limited edition Jelly King variant was conditioned on loads of plum and cherry purée.

Boutip (8358) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 21, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2021 Bottle: Poured a hay reddish color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and minor lacing. Aroma of cherry and plum notes with some tart notes is quite nice. Taste is a nice mix of fresh plum and cherry notes which are well balanced against light notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Very well brewed with a great refreshing factor.

kevinsenn (3112) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 10, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2021 Bottle. Tart rhubarb aroma with tropical fruit notes. Taste is tart up front, giving way to rhubarb and fruit notes, and a herbal spice finish. Awesome, like most JKs.

Oakes (26757) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 27, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2021 Draught @ Annex Ale, Calgary. Pinkish, opaque, medium head. The aroma has a lot of plum and a little cherry. Always like tripping over new Jelly King. Soft tartness, probably more body and sweetness than most jelly kings but the cherry is tart, the plum is tart. I am not super convinced those two go work well together actually. It’s okay but for me it’s not the most effective jelly king.

jercraigs (13679) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 24, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2021 2021-11-23. Hazy red-purple body, large foamy pink-purple head. 3++ Aroma is lightly lactic funk accented fruit, plum and cherry that I might just call berries if I didn't know better. Pleasant. 7+ Flavour is milder than I recall previous versions being. It almost feels a touch dilute, with the fruit less prominent than some versions but also less of the base beer poking through? Average bodied palate, modest carbonation feels just a touch low. Enjoyable but lacks a bit of the 'pop' I remember previous versions having. I am curious if it is the beer, or my palate/memory. 7/4/7/3/15-16 Bottle from LCBO, Toronto.

Tranquillity (3741) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 14, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 Bottled from the brewery. Murky red body, small white head. The aroma has cherry. The taste is tart and deep. Cherry and raspberry, red wine notes in the finish.

czar (13375) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 24, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2021 bottle that pours unclear/slightly hazy bright medium dark pink with a small but reviving off-white/pinkish, some lacing. creamy tart candies, more plums than cherries which is highly surprising and very much welcomed here, spot-on tartness (highly surprising as well), quirky citrusy bitterness, soft seedy astringency, minerals. moderate carbonation, light body - texturized juiciness; dry and softly tart citrusy finish. amongst the best of iterations i've tried.

thorongil2 (5905) - rootless cosmopolitan elite, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 21, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2021 (Bottle) very hazy bright pinkish colour with a medium tall white head; aroma of sourness, jam; tart flavour with a long; light tart and bitter finish

Metalchopz (5735) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 5, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2021 Hazy red-purple-pink colour with a big frothy light-pink head, good retention and leaving soapy-foam lacing. Fruity nose with the cherries and plums. Hints of vanilla, raspberries. The taste shows the two fruits nicely balanced with some sourness, but not too crazy. Very light tart on the tongue. Another good Jelly King, well-blended fruity beer.

robinvboyer (6570) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 3, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 3, 2021 Bottle from the lcbo. Dark purple pour, with a medium pink head. Sour Plum, tart cherry, light berries, hints of lemon zest. Soft mouth feel and carb. Light tart finish, low bitterness, tart cherries, a bit of pie filling with Plum flesh.

davidezdonz (1514) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - AUG 20, 2021
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2021 A 500ml bottle, bottled on 25th February 2021, and poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass. It was a cloudy darkish maroon colour with a slight purple tint, and a just over two finger beige pinkish head that had pretty good retention and left some nice lacing. Aromas of sweet cough medicine cherry, spritzy ginger ale, and notes of lemon zest. Tastes lightly sour, tart, moderately sweet, plum, cherry, with a touch of pink guava and lemon zest. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall I really enjoyed the aroma, and this fruity flavour combination worked for me. A good easy drinking variety of Jelly King.
