UPDATED: JAN 7, 2019 Dark black, opaque. The flavor profile here was excellent--vanilla and a light hint of the bourbon, making for a very drinkable combination. Definitely on the sweet side, but not overwhelming. Solid palate. (4 oz. glass on tap at brewpub)

On at brewpub, pours a dark brown black with a small khaki head. Sweet milk chocolate aroma with vanilla. Taste of sweet milk chocolate and sweet vanilla bean, light roast on the finish. Solid.

2 oz. pour, on tap at the brewpub in Long Lake, Minnesota. Consumed on 1-28-16. Hazy, reddish brown. Beige head. Dark red glow. Nice color. Coffee with sugar and cream in aroma. Roasted vanilla bean scent. Subdued coffee taste. The vanilla does come through in a sophisticated way. Low in flavor but pleasant. Light body. Soft in palate. Insubstantial palate effects.

Skyview (6247) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JAN 7, 2016
Sampled on draught at the Birch Lake brewpub in Long Lake, Minnesota. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a light beige head that slowly dissipates an leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of typical vanilla, chocolate and floral hops. Taste is medium to medium full bodied with flavors of vanilla, chocolate, toasted dark malts and some whipped cream. Finish is semi-sweet with not so much lactose presence. Mostly malt and whipped cream aftertaste.

Tap at Birch’s. Another solid beer from this very solid new brewpub. Deep opaque brown pour with a foamy rocky head. Sweet cocoa and vanilla nose and taste. Approachable, flavorful, would crush again.
