COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with imported Belgian malts and a blend of exotic spices, BJ’s Grand Cru has a malty character with a whirlwind of fruit and spice flavors. First brewed to celebrate the new milennium, BJ’s Grand Cru has been a seasonal tradition ever since. This Belgian-style amber ale is bottle-coinditioned and flavorful enough to age in the bottle for many years. Like a fine wine, the beer will change over time as some flavors mellow while others become more pronounced. For optimal aging, we recommend that you store BJ’s Grand Cru for at least one year at between 55 and 65°F. Or enjoy it now!

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2019 On tap at the Tukwilla BJ's. Pours gold with head and lace. Aroma of bright malts, sweetness and a heavenly Belgian yeast. Moderate carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of amber malts, lovely sweet sugars, very subtle clove and banana, significantly less pronounced than many versions from years past. Overall really tasty, worthy of a trip to a BJ's and at 20 years old in production, perhaps the best they've ever produced. Granted, the rest of their beers may not shine brightly, but for this one gem I'll happily take a growler to go, with the new glass!

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2019 At BJs. In a tulip glass. Brownish yellow with a “ring” of a head around the inner glass. A classic Belgium beer. Orange foam spice with a sweet finish.

freekyp (3691) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - JAN 11, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2019 Bjs brews up a Belgian holiday classic. Banana, orange, lemon and clove nose mixes seemlessly with bready yeast. Thick, lightly hazy amber with a wisp of head. Heavy body but still in balance despite the high malt content. Spicy notes from the yeast add character to the fade, and clove seems to increase in intensity. At 10%, it warms, but is not overly hot. Nicely done.

On tap at local BJ'S restaurant...good beer, but not great...smooth balanced taste but not one of my go to beers. One thing I like is that even though it is 10% ABV, it doesn't hit you with a heavy alcohol taste.
