COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our take on a "west coast style" IPA, Jagged Edge is big and hoppy, yet it’s also extremely well balanced, and surprisingly easy to reach for another. We "first wort hop" with Columbus, and use Simcoe for flavor additions. The finishing hop additions include Columbus, Centennial, and Simcoe. Columbus is pungent with sweet orange aromas and flavor. Centennial adds floral notes along with additional citrus. Simcoe add a nice pine like flavor and aroma. These hops were chosen for their flavors and their moderate cohumulone content, which means they are bitter but not overwhelmingly bitter in large quantities. Pale malts are complemented by caramalt and light munich malts, which both enhance the malty sweetness and color and work to balance the substantial hop bill.

Tap (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) (5:4:5:2:11=2.7)
Sickly sweet mashy and fruity aroma, yikes. Reddish orange. Crazily sweet taste, sickly sweet - it feels like it's desperately trying to cover the alcohol with the sugar, but it's failing. Mashy sweet finish. Heavy and slick palate. Nah, not for me.

(Keg at Pikkulintu, 20171119) The beer poured deep amber and nearly clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A decent hoppy pale ale with sweet notes.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, deep golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Mildly fruity, resiny and herbal-spicy hoppy aroma with a slightly cara-malty background. Mildly bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly cara-malty base with piney and mainly citric hops, getting slightly grassy towards the bitter-sweet finish. 17.VII.17

Slightly cloudy deep golden color with a small gray head. Dry malt and dry hops in the aroma. The flavor is pretty much the same. Old. Love to taste this fresh.
