COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Large portions of floor-malted wheat give our refreshing Spring Saison its creamy mouthfeel and hazy straw color. Smooth, slightly tart, and delicately hopped, this beer is also spiced with orange peel, coriander, and grains of paradise.

Editor’s note: replaced by Fenceline as the spring seasonal.

Yet another lovely BFB saison, the brightest and most crushable of their (apparently former) season-based farmhouse ales. Pours a bright, gorgeous straw gold with a boisterous white head and slight lacing. Aroma gives up grass and hay, a slight bit of pilsner-ish floral hops, mild hints of sweet clove. Taste offers a bright, slightly citric front, moderately sweet with clove and wheat playing against a mildly tart, almost white wine undertone. Orange peel and coriander come through towards the back, with a spicy, semidry finish tinged with muscadine and lemondrops. Sparkly, highly carbonated textures is perfect for the style. Shame this beer was retired; Fenceline’s strong, but this beer’s better.

This is a pretty good traditional style, saison. Aroma’s at first, caramel and yeast, then musty. Flavor’s like nose, sweet tart, great carbonic tang, with a slight bitter finish. Excellent drinking beer.

750 mL bottle. Golden orange body with a big white head. Smells of sweet doughy bread and wheat. Yeasty aromas of banana. Coriander in the backdrop. Tastes of wheat and light bready sweetness. Light citrus, but coriander is very strong. High carbonation. Almost too much, but keeps it light. Delicious and simple. Heavy-handed on the coriander, though.

Thanks Willie. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy crisp yellow color. Big white foamy head dissipated nicely. Messy foamy lace ran here and there. The aroma starts with smooth sweet lemon pulp, light white pepper, smooth bready/yeastiness. The flavor leans to the sweet side lemon/citrus pulpiness. White pepper spice tries to balance. Quick semi-sweet slightly bready aftertaste. Sly citrus spritzy finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Good level of carbonation. Flows quite smooth over my tongue. Overall, nice sweet semi-dry saison that I would have again, could be that I had it at the right time.

Gold in color with a light head. Aromas are bready, soft lavender and juicy orange. Quenching finish picks up the acidity of citrus and berry fruit, but heavy on the doughiness. A nice overall saison.

Flavor is slight saison yeast. Ends with slight berry twang. Light hop bite. Bright on the tongue and thin also. Very average and very dry. Not impressed. Thin head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a golden orange with a small white head. Aromas of citrus/grass. Flavor was a dry, yeasty tinge to it. Overall very drinkable.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2016 From bottle it’s clear gold with a quick white head. The aroma is more authentic than I expected with the added spices, it smells of rich malt (hay, wheat, fresh baked crackers) and yeast (lightly phenolic and peppery) and hops (noble lemon and flowers and herbs) than the coriander or grains of paradise. The orange peel is most evident but blends well with the fruity hops. In the mouth it’s medium-light bodied, sweet with moderate bitterness and lush and spritzy carbonation. It finishes with quiet spice and citrus touches and a lingering wheat slickness. Pretty freakin’ nice quaffable Belgian ale from BFB.
