tdubs92 (120) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 21, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2021 Dark with thin head. Molasses, plum, cherry aroma. Maple, brown sugar, tobacco and a bit of chocolate flavor. Pretty devine.

pictoman (3080) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 18, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2021 Poured from 355mL can (abv listed as 11%). Black with tan head. Tobacco, sweet roast malt, mild chocolate, a bit of booziness. Booze make it a little harsh, but otherwise it's quite good.

Gerbeer (5947) - Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 8, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2020 355 ml can. 11%. Pours a very dark brown with full head that settles quickly. Aromas of roasted malts, dusty chocolate, chalk, and a bit of dark fruit. Flavors show a lot of roasted malts, somewhat acidic and bitter, with some creamy coffee and vanilla notes thrown in, but not really adding balance. Some heat. Very bitter roasty finish

beerplace (6389) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 22, 2020
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2020 12oz at Phill's place shared with Alex. Appearance: dark brown with beige. Aroma: fruity, some ink, some grassy notes, roasted malts. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: good Russian Imperial Stout, but it's too roasty for me.

hawthorne00 (6630) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 15, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 15, 2020 Can. Very dark brown with a tan head that settles around a cm. Somewhat vague aroma of dried fruit and bread with roast in the background. Getting towards oily. The dried fruit sweetness is there in the taste but soon is swept away by heavy roast and almost burnt coffee. At first it seems over the top but after a while a balance of a sort emerges - the brash end needs the sweet beginning.

WortStein17 (93) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 29, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 29, 2020 Color is very, very dark brown that lets no light through it, pours thick with a half finger of thin, dark brown head that has a pretty decent retention for as thin as it is, but leaving only thin watery lacing. Mild aroma to it, sweet almost syrupy smelling with lots of dark chocolate, notes of molasses, dark fruits, and maybe a hint of maple sugar. Very sweet and dark malty flavor forward, Rich and full bodied though maybe not quite as heavy as it looked like, when I poured it, with slick, lowish carbonation to it. Sweet candi sugar and molasses flavor right away with notes of dark fruit like black berries, prunes, and dark raisins coming in after the initial sweetness. Flavor on the back end picks up some traces of unsweetened coco powder, lightly bitter hints of burnt sugar and a faint note of black licorice that finishes with a faint tobacco leaf hop bitterness and sweet, brandy note that imparts a nice boozy warmth to it, leaving a lingering but faint aura of coffee and licorice on the after taste.

Tasted while visiting Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. 12-ounce can pours pitch black with the slightest mahogany highlight when held up the light, along with a thick light-brown whipped-cream head and residual lacing. Aroma: faint molasses, coffee. Flavor: espresso, baker's chocolate, molasses, campfire marshmallows, figs, dates, caramelized balsamic vinegar, pine resins; definitely not a sweet imperial stout,so I enjoy this more than some. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied, dry finish; drinks far lighter than its ABV.

12 oz can. Thanks Vehn! Enjoyed on August 17 2018.
Black color with a small light tan head. Roasted malt, soy sauce, licorice and vinegar in the aroma. The flavor is roasted malt, bitterness, dryness, ash, molasses and sweetness. Decent.

olio (14442) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 17, 2018
355 ml can (11% abv) @ Suvanto Residence.
Pours pitch black color with a small beige head. Aroma is a bit weird; ripe fruits, licorice, chocolate, cocoa, toasted malts and some spices. Flavor is chocolaty, roasted malty, ripe fruits, faint coffee, maybe smoky tones too. Really unconventional IS, more like a Belgian Strong Traditional Doppelbock Stout.

Considering the price point at under $5 .... This is awesome. It's awesome anyway. Black pour, big tan head. Aromas are cream, roast, dark chocolate, bitter coffee. Tastes like it smells. Great imperial stout.
