Headbanger (4457) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 22, 201412oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours a light brown with a small head. Aroma of malt, caramel, nutty, and toffee. Taste of the same with some added sweetness. This medium bodied brew is not a bad brew from Coors.
hopscotch (11918) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 6, 2007Bottle (2000?)... Found this baby in an old box of golf balls along with a Sam Adams Longshot Hazelnut Brown (1997?) (my favorite beer before before many of my favorites of today were even a gleam in their respective brew masters’ eyes). I used to really like this beer as well, let’s see how it held up... Clear, dark mahogany ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Restrained aroma of caramel and toffee with a hint of earthiness and a whisper of milk chocolate. Flavor wise, no real oxidation. Not much else either. Well-balanced, although it leans a touch on the sweet side and is pretty thin. Unoffensive. Light to medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish... too crisp and clean for the style. In this bottle’s case, thank God for pasteurization. Oh well, not as much going on as I remember. Can’t wait to drink the Sam Adams Hazelnut Brown... loved it twelve years ago and probably still will, but I’m certain it’s not in the database. They only brewed it for one year and that was well before RateBeer!

rolickstamp293 (14101) - FIJI ISLANDS - JAN 1, 2007Bottle. A very tasty brew indeed! Smooth and very rich. Roasted malt and caramel. Pure joy. Sad that it is no longer brewed.
canary dog (831) - Rutland, Vermont, USA - MAY 9, 2006I haven’t had this in about 11 years, but I remember it being somewhat flavorful. It might have gotten a higher rating from me, but I am not a big fan of the style.
Smacky (71) - San Clemente, California, USA - DEC 8, 2004The name tells you everything you need to know about this brew: an uninteresting brown brew with a faint nose of cocoa, earth, and malt. The flavors are ok, slightly common of the style without much character - a little roasted chocolate and malt, a bit smooth, but overall unimpressive. I will gladly pay extra for Samuel Smith’s nutbrown.
MrBeerUSA (40) - HorseShoe, North Carolina, USA - JUN 1, 2004This is a perfect example of what not to brew. We want to drink a refreshing beer not a bottle of trail-mix! Pour me something else PLEASE!
DocLock (11543) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 16, 2004Pours deep brown, with aroma of malt, slight toffee, and caramel. Tastes malty and nutty, with some caramel, almond, and malt flavor at the finish. Pretty good.
Slick (1970) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - NOV 7, 2002not bad, middle of the road flavor and finish was an ok trial beer but wouldn't buy again there are better out there in this style
