Deep amber color with a chewy mouthfeel. This giant is brewed in the "wee heavy" style of scotch ales & is heavy on the alcohol, caramel & malty sweetness.

hauxe (3004) - Butzbach, GERMANY - DEC 31, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 Auburn with a frothy, white head. Aroma of toffee, torf, a hint of smoke. Bittersweet. Medium-bodied, moderate watery texture, really a bit empty and too watered down for the style.

GTAEgeek (4660) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - DEC 1, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2021 Taster in a flight at the Santa Fe Railyard location. Pours a clear, reddish, brown color, with a small, tan head. The nose is caramel, light oak, brown sugar, and pecans. Sweet and sugary, with a touch of bitterness. Pretty nice.

seymour (2587) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - FEB 19, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 19, 2021 Finally entering backlog from notes. Can from Trader Joe's poured a clear, deep reddish amber color with moderate beige foam, lots of lace. Rich malty flavors, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, faint peppery hop balance. Well concealed alcohol. Medium body, thinner, less full, round, bready mouthfeel, and higher carbonation than the best examples of the Wee Heavy style. Good not great.

BelgianBeerGal (5522) - Panama City, Florida, USA - NOV 30, 2020
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2020 Crazy enough I never saw this in NM but found it in Memphis. Picked up because I wanted a fall beer and not another IPA. Nice caramel color with a thin tan head. Aroma is toasted caramel malt with some nuttiness. Flavor is lightly sweet and boozy. Nice scotch ale.

coasternut (649) - VANCOUVER, Washington, USA - MAR 17, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2020 Really good sweet malty taste, almost too sweet. Strong alcohol smell, but not too strong on the taste. I really like Scotch Ales and this is a good one. Got in a can at the brewery about a year ago and it ages well. Nice creamy mouth feel

kevinator (5671) - The Colony, Texas, USA - NOV 12, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2019 Mild caramel nose. Nice copper color. Somewhat sweet with a bready malt presence. Medium body.

climberbob (777) - Virginia, USA - AUG 18, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 18, 2019 Draft at Hilton near Albuquerque airport. Dark amber mahogany with thin head. Some sweetish biscuit malt aroma. Taste is a bit sweet. Some caramel and oaky notes. Tastes like a scotch ale. Ok but not amazing

3.9
KUEric (1018) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUL 26, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2019 Deep amber with minimal, but linger tan head. Looks heavily carbonated and fizzy (maybe thin). The aroma is grainy, malty, bready. The flavor is balanced, rich, caramel, toast. Delicious (not-so) wee-heavy!
