jandd1983 (6872) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - JAN 7, 2022UPDATED: JAN 7, 2022 Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of bourbon, malts and chocolate. The taste was similar to the aroma with more bourbon, malts, chocolate, coffee, wood, alcohol with medium carbonation and a nice chewy aftertaste. Tasty.
mcberko (34280) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 29, 2021UPDATED: DEC 29, 2021 12 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is somewhat laid back given the gravity of this beer; there's subtle notes of bourbon, molasses, and vanilla. Flavour is heavy, borderline brutal, with heavy bourbon, alcohol, molasses, and vanilla. Nothing at all subtle about this. Massive boozy bourbon notes dominate, with moderate-to-high sweetness, and an oily, viscous palate. It's tasty for sure, but a bit over-the-top and too brutal.
notalush (6725) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 7, 2021UPDATED: DEC 7, 2021 Bottle from “BLVR + D” six pack - thick black pour with a dark tan lace - nose is deep bourbon oak, vanilla, smoke, coffee, brown sugar - slick and chewy mouthfeel - sweet up front, but has some light fruity acidity cutting it - black coffee, vanilla, light spiciness, deep bourbon complexity, light tamarind and umami in the back - tasty - probably their best BA stout since Brandy Land.
