BenL8 (1364) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 1, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 Dog B, shared along with c, d/e, f and j for our great 'who let the dogs out' testing bonanza to start of the new year with a bang! Pours completely black, very small head. Aroma is intense dark malts, licorice, chocolate, roasted barley. Big body. Flavour is malty, intense dark malts all around, especially strong licorice, dark chocolate, roasted barley. A good old school imperial stout, but a bit too much roast here to be excellent. Any heat must have disappeared over the years. 3.6 Dog C: definitely not the same beer in taste at this point. Much more complex, less licorice, more chocolate and coffee. Much better. Definitely taste the 'subtle dofferences' with b here. 3.9
