COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg and bottled, series special
Hello My Name Is Vladimir is our tongue-in-cheek, limonnik berry infused double IPA. It is the latest in our Hello My Name Is... series, but rather than continue our Scandinavian journey, we’ve travelled east to Russia, to poke fun at uber-hetero Vladimir Putin.
This beer is our first foray into controversy with a cause greater than our own. An ironic beer, but one backed up with some serious flavours.
On the nose there’s a huge explosion of audacious liberally- minded US hops, against a robust yet elegant malt backdrop.
Flavours of malt sweetness and a touch of acidic berry sharpness combine and give way to an avalanche of lightly toasted, fruity blueberry muffin malitiness, followed by a rush of piney resinous US hops to the sides of palate.
The piece de resistance; a mind-bogglingly bitter, yet tongue- twisting tart finish, with both flavour profiles fighting it out to see who will last the longest. The result; a finish as long as a cross-country topless ski journey through Siberia.
*50% of the profits raised through this beer will go directly to charities that represent oppressed minorities around the world.

Goldbarren (4264) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - MAR 5, 2019

20.2.2014. Grapefruit, fruits, pine, HC IPA style but less pine. Similar taste, simply great!

Bottle (long waited beer, shared with friends). Amber color, medium head. Fruity aroma. Hoppy. Well balanced. Smooth, especially for double IPA.

Bottled. Slightly hazy orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is berries, some floral notes along with parfumed soap and some mild alcohol. Flavour is pine, resin, some floral and berryish notes along with some alcohol and mild bready notes. One dimensional.

Poured from 330mL bottle [batch 025; bb 28/01/2015]. Deep orangey yellow with off-white head. Old malt, old tropical hops, a little sweaty.

330ml (thank FatPhil). Clear dark amber color. Small size, white bubbly head, stays. Fruity, soapy, fart, aftershave in aroma. Soapy, coconut, fruity, sweet taste. Soft carbonation. Mild bitterness. I don’t know what it tires to be.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2015 330ml bottle (Koht, Tallinn)
Holy jesus, this smells of shampoo. Palate is sticky. Taste is perfumey too. Bit of a mess. Malty and way too perfumey. Very sticky palate. However, it did cover the alcohol, so a bonus point, but overall, quite an unpleasant drink. Toung-scrapingly dirty chemical acidic hop finish, aggressive and quite nasty. Bit like Vlad, so well named.
