UPDATED: JUN 13, 2021 Lovely aroma and taste of whiskey, oak barrels, chocolate, coffee, leather and vanilla. Exquisitely well-balanced bitterness and sweetness in the aftertaste that fills the whole mouth for an eternity. Perfection in the bottle. pivnizub (12576) - Bochum, GERMANY - DEC 12, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2020 Bottle (BBE 15/02/17, no idea how old this is...): Literally black, no head to speak of, robust sweet aroma of roasted malt and dried fruits, moderate bitterness detectable, very delicate traces of wanilla and vood as well, hints of (peat-) smoke; solid sweet and moderately bitter flavour, full bodied - no doubt; lingering - and drier - toasty, caramelly and (port-) vinous finish with a gentle and warming alcohol-burn in the aftertaste . A pleasant one...

Lubiere (19735) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 17, 2020
UPDATED: MAY 17, 2020 A deep dark stout with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with licorice, alcohol warmth, dark fruits, perfume, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, molasses, bourbon barrel notes, vinous character, very nice and rich. Bottle from bieropholie. BB 28/09/22, about 5 years old.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2020 Bottle, 2013 vintage. Rich toffee aroma with notes of brown sugar, molasses, peaty smoke, scotch, oak and a little bit of booze. Pours deep caramel brown with a thin mocha brown head that has some retention and lacing. Starts with rich toffee malt, brown sugar and molasses flavors as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with peaty smoke, scotch a and oak flavors as well as having a nice amount of warming booze. Fantastic!

glennmastrange (3404) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 15, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 15, 2019 Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of toasted, molasses and dark bitter chocolate, faint resin for the hops, light earth for the yeast, with notes of raisin, dried fig and hints of tar, whiskey, vanilla and tobacco. Head is small, wispy, light tan, with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes heavily sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is medium to full, a little syrupy, with a soft carbonation and a heavily alcoholic finish. An excellent Imperial Stout with a multitude of aromas and nicely balanced flavors.

beerplace (6389) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 4, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 4, 2019 330ml bottle bought in Budapest in 2013. Pours a very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, some dark fruits, whiskey barrel. Taste is quite sweet with smokey and barrel notes. It lacks body for this sweetness. Not bad.

oliodnb (665) - ITALY - OCT 2, 2018
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2018 Everything is perfect until you actually drink it and the overpowering sweetness erases everything from your mouth. I found it difficult to finish and I usually love this kind of extreme stouts.

The_Osprey (10582) - WALES - JAN 8, 2018
December 2017 - Tasting in Hackney. Bottle shared with big thanks to Kenny. As 'BrewDog Paradox Jura', 15%. Opaque black with a foamy brown head that leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is meaty, touch buttery whisky, some milk chocolate. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is smooth and malty, quite 'meaty' rich, more chocolate, faintest cherry and mint notes, spicy-salty finish. Not bad on the whole. (6-4-7-4-15=3.6)
