ChainGangGuy (5514) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JAN 8, 2022UPDATED: JAN 8, 2022 12 ounce can - $2.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a clearish, tawny-looking, ruddy-red hue with a very slim, very brief, whitish head.
Smell: Dry, crumbly breadcrusts with toasted grains and light, hoppy notes of red berries, citrus rind and earthy spice.
Taste: Toasted breadcrusts and grains, fairly dry with just a inkling of malty, caramelized sweetness showing. Very faint chocolate powder as it warms a bit. As with the nose, it's berry-citrus-spice but not particularly robust. Medium bitterness. Finishes expectedly dry with a low, light residual bitterness and sustained albeit mild tastes of breadcrust and fruit.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It'll do.

patrick767 (5705) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 6, 2021UPDATED: OCT 6, 2021 No idea why they brewed Fake Empire as a sour ipa from Brewdog Scotland and a red ale from Brewdog USA, but I had the latter.
Pours red with a one finger head. It smells of toasted caramel malt It tastes of sweet, toasted caramel malt, minimal hops, the usual. I thought there would be more going on here. It’s a pretty average red ale.
