Draft. Pours black with a small tan head. Malty aroma. Thick and creamy palate. Flavor is a malt start with a slightly bitter finish.

Pours a deep dull brown, topped by a good inch of creamy tan foam. Good head retention and lacing. Huge chocolate and malty aroma. The flavor is a very rich bittersweet chocolate with toffee and some grain. The hop flavor was not prominent, but by no means was the beer overly sweet. Good balance, medium-full bodied, perfect carbonation. This beer was actually a blend of a few different batches including a special batch made for a brewfest.

12 oz glass at the brewpub. Translucent molasses with a fine small head diminishing to a very thin coating...lovely dark, roasty thick chocolate-tobacco mixture in the nose, sweet and ashy-bitter...cocoa in the body, with light fruitiness, a bit too heavily carbonated but the nice tarry bitterness towards the end helps make up for that, and an overall lightness/lack of "heft" for a stout. The best of the three I tried at this neat little old inn.

Ruby chestnut color with a dense head of light tan bubbles. Vienna coffee aromas abound. Chocolate, coffee, cinnamon, mix with some light ginger and anise. Thinner metallic feel takes away slightly from the enjoyment. DARk, dark chocolate flavors with a hint of prune danish. A novel brew.

On tap at the Brewpub. Brown with a reddish beige head. Great lacing! Chocholatey aroma. Light body. Outstanding milk and maple syrup sweetness. Subtle roasted flavor. Yummy. I’m guessing the style of this to be a stout by the name, as the brewer refused to describe any of his beers by style. In fact, the owner of this place is a real asshole who seems to hate homebrewers or beer lovers. He’s a real argumentative weirdo, but he makes pretty good beer. If you go to this place, just drink. Don’t try to chat with the sonavabitch.
