UPDATED: OCT 16, 2021 On tap at Ballarak Magione Palermo. Once more a beer I really like that I haven't had in quite a long time. Pours black with a small slightly tan head. Aroma is dark malts, rich medium to dark roast coffee and cacao. Light vanilla. Flavours is dark malts, lots of espresso, light to medium bitterness. Cacao, vanilla are quite apparent too, but coffee is dominant. A beautiful imperial stout if one likes espresso.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2021 Imperial stout particolare, un pò diversa dal classico stile. Scende bene e delizia il palato, forse mi sarebbe garbata un pò più strutturata.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2020 Imperial stout de 8,7 % abv et 60 ebu, en collaboration avec Prairie Artisan. Au menu : malt d'avoine, grains de café, fèves de cacao. Mon exemplaire était à 15 mois après sa date conseillée. Couleur noir intense, à l'opacité très forte. Mousse en nappage diaphane partiel de surface, et couronne plus forte. Arômes de café brut d'Ethiopie, café vert, pelure de pomme de terre. 1ère bouche qui est plus amène que le nez sur des notes torréfiées. Arrière-bouche qui donne des nuances intenses, mais approximatives. 2ème bouche fluide, qui ajoute une note herbacée au côté torréfié. Arrière-bouche avec des fèves de cacao brutes mal intégrées Longueur qui trouve des nuances fortes, sans vraie harmonie. L'ensemble présente un côté rugueux et terreux constamment. Jambes huileuses, longues. Levure correcte. Alcool incapable de travailler le développement sur la longueur. Finale terreuse. CONCLUSION : un imperial stout dont l'adjectif ' flavored ' est totalement relatif .. ce qui me permet ainsi de faire un bel oxymore .. mais les brasseurs, parce qu'ils étaient deux pour faire ce western raté .. m'y ont obligé !! Bon je préfère regarder un bon Sergio Leone que reprendre de ce truc .. (6/3/4/2/11)

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2020 12 oz. bottle, bought July 2019. Big nose of chocolate as soon as I pop the cap. Pours dark brown/black color with very little fizz, and just a tiny ring of foam around the edge. Taste has more of that deep chocolate, sticky malts. I get an impression of bourbon barrel aging, or perhaps that's the coffee, or a little extra alcohol. Also some vanilla impressions. I have no idea what to expect from the wheat of the spaghetti in the boil. Suffice to say it has some interesting spice either from wheat or a light hop load. It was a good value, too, at $3.99/bottle at Binny's.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2020 Bevuta in spina a pompa.. un’imperial stout calda e avvolgente nei profumi ed al gusto: color caffè/cioccolato con schiuma compatta e persistente; al naso escono gli aromi della tostatura e del cacao e poi il tutto si ritrova in bocca equilibrato da un’ottima struttura che ne conferisce una piacevole morbidezza. Retrogusto a fine bevuta leggermente amaro che non stanca.. birra ben fatta!!

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2020 Bouteille 33cl le 15/01/2019. DDM : 30/09/2020. Apparence : Mousse beige, fines bulles, liquide noir, opaque. Arôme : Café, malt torréfié, oxydé ☹. Bouche : Café, malt torréfié, cacao, chocolat, oxydation, cidre, amertume forte. Palais : Carbonatation forte, corps moyen. Oxydé, dommage ça avait l’air bon. Non notée.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2019 Black body with a firm, vanishing beige head. Aroma is chocolate, espresso.taste is coffee, choco. Mild coffeish finish. Medium body soft carbonation slicky texture

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2019 On tap @ ChiareScure Festival, Milano 2019. Il naso riconosce segni di caffè. L'intensità olfattiva è elevata, permanendo in maniera apprezzabile. Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste poco. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana fine. Il colore è come l'inchiostro nero. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è discreto. La forza gustativa è elevata e la durata è buona. Il retrogusto è intenso. Sul tetto della bocca si fermano sentori di caramello, cereali, cioccolato e Nescafé carico e freddo.
