COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel-aged in Woodford Reserve barrels. Brooklyn Black Ops does not exist. However, if it did exist, it would be a robust stout concocted by the Brooklyn brewing team under cover of secrecy and hidden from everyone else at the brewery. Supposedly, "Black Ops" was aged for four months in bourbon barrels, bottled flat, and re-fermented with Champagne yeast, creating big chocolate and coffee flavors with a rich underpinning of vanilla-like oak notes. They say it’s vanishingly rare. We have no idea what they’re talking about.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 Creamy near black pour, tan ring. Dark and milk chocolate, vanilla, oak, molasses, caramel, treacle. Smooth and rich, but somehow drinkable with no rough edges. How have I never had this old stalwart before. Magisterial and immaculate. Instantly moves to my top 1%. Bottle courtesy of and shared with Zoltan.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 My can says this was aged in Four Roses Single batch barrels and is 12.4% abv. Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a huge vanilla and wood. Flavor is a thick. heavy syrupy malt with maple syrup and some bourbon notes. This was super thick and heavy with a lot of bourbon. Flavorful with almost all bourbon and very warming.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2021 Botella de 75 cl. Aroma a café, chocolate, bourbon, vainilla.

(music pairing : Narnia, album éponyme, great work too … )

hman43 (3700) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - JUN 20, 2020
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2020 It pours black with a dark brown head. Head retention is excellent. It has bourbon in the aroma with roast, coffee, and chocolate. There are background notes of oak and vanilla. It has strong roast flavors with bourbon and coffee. There are chocolate notes in support with low vanilla. There are also some black cherry notes in the finish. It has a full body with strong alcohol warming. The flavors were well together although the bourbon does tend to bring the strongest flavor with takes a bit off the finish for me.

simontomlinson (4357) - Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2020
UPDATED: MAY 23, 2020 2016 bottle drunk 2020. Foamy light brown head left a good cover on a near black still body. Huge aroma of malt, liquorice & bourbon. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy over the tongue with a lighter clean back. Liquorice, malt, bourbon, raisin, vanilla & Christmas cake tastes with a hint of grape on the back followed by a long boozy finish. Banging
