UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 Bottle at a tasting. Opaque black, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, cocoa beans, coconut, oak. Moderately sweet, flavors of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, bourbon, alcoholic warmth. Full-bodied, oily, silky smooth. Great.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2021 Opaque black beer with a slight brown head. Heavy aroma; taste starts heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Bourbon, vanilla, red fruit, chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. 9/5/8/4

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2021 Czarne, z niedużą, szybko opadająca do obrączki pianą. No aromat fajny - kawo-czeko w towarzystwie waniliny, daktyli i karmelu. W ustach podobnie, umiarkowanie słodkie, mocno palone, z posmakiem słonego karmelu i burbonowym finiszem. Wysoka, palona goryczka, średnie co2, lekki sos sojowy, oleista faktura.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2021 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours black with a surprisingly thin, fizzy tan head. Medium to heavy sweet, lots of well roasted dark malts, bitter dark chocolate, fudge, berries, raisins, some sugary coffee, ash, baking cocoa. Full bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Warming finish, bourbon, some lightly sticky dark malts, burnt sugars, toasted caramel, more bittersweet cocoa, dried berries, earth, raisins, ashy roast. Very tasty, hearty sauce.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2021 Bottle 330ml shared at DH2 tasting. Pours black with thin beige head. Flavor has roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa, alcohol, dried fruits, licorice. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, roasted finish with warming alcohol.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2021 Bottle from HOTM. Jet black with a slim tan head. Aroma rich dark chocolate and coffee with slight berry fruit. Taste roasted bitter. Full rich full and boozy body.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2021 330ml bottle online from the source. Pours very dark brown towards black with a tan head. Aroma: roasted malts, cocoa, liquorice, vanilla & coffee hints, bourdon barrel. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet with moderate bitterness, light dry, roast, chocolate, bourbon, light coffee, umami, booze. Smooth. Thin to medium body with fine carbonation.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2021 33 cl bottle. Pours black color with a small beige head. Bourbon first thing on the nose, roasted malts and chocolate, cocoa, subtle licorice, hints of coffee and faint dried fruits. Flavor is dry malty and roasty, bourbon-y vanilla sweetness, chocolate, some caramel notes, some coffee bitterness and roast on the finish. Alcohol is nicely hidden, really good balanced IP.

Opaque dark brown beer, short lived bubbly darkish tan head. Palate is remarkably light for its 14%, I'm gonna say thin for this big a beer, reasonable fine carbonation. The dark malts bring a decent dark chocolate streak. A little dank wet wood bourbon and wet wood bitterness. Touch of chocolate cake. Some coffee bitterness lurking underneath. Quite a light finish leaves a mildly warming linger and some modest bitterness. It's a rich affair but lacks a little sweetness for me and certainly lacks a nice fluffy palate which would have elevated this a lot. Good job then but stylistically, it doesn't tick some important boxes for me.
