COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the end of last year, Cantillon sent a Kriek barrel to Arran in Scotland to be filled with local Whisky. The Whisky was bottled after 4 months maceration and the barrel was sent back to Cantillon. We refilled the barrel with cherries and a 2 years old Lambic. The beer was kegged after 4 months of fermentation.

Tap at BXL 2018. This kriek was amazing. Not by the pure beer on its own ( couldn't even find the barrel aroma), but it was so. So, so fresh... Juicy to the point its nearly fleshy. Extremely natural cherries over a very mild, funky lambic. Hell yeah. Quality perspective!? Way to young. Taste perspective ? I'd like to drink this daily. Not sure how it will be when it settles, and matures. This might be one of those beers you want to drink 'too' young!

PhillyCraft (11988) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 22, 2018
My first pour of the Shelton Brothers festival care of JVR himself, walked straight to the loon booth and ordered one of these. Pours a plum purple red with white head. Notes are beautiful cherry pie, et tu brut, kriek, light vanilla, whiskey, dark cherry, and oak. Medium to fuller mouthfeel. Impressive stuff.

Rask0lnikov (2713) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 14, 2018
On tap at BXL 2018. Pours beautiful dark red colour. No head. Dark mellow cherries, notes of oak, slight vineous notes, really slight notes of whisky in the aroma. Still the smell is delicious. Lots of cherries at first. Notes of whisky in the middle. Cherries as well. The combination of cherries and the taste of the whisky from the barrel work really well together making the beer so delicious. Cherries and oak in the end. No carbonation. Really well balanced, tasty brew.

Mortlach (4352) - Rome, ITALY - OCT 11, 2018
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2018 On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome).

Drat 0.25l at Moeder Lambic Fontainas Brussels, Belgium. 29.09.2018. Pour it dark red color with no head. Aroma light smokey note, cherries, light funky. Taste sweet and sourish cheery flavor, sourish fruity, light whiskey note, I'm not sure is this the same beer from BXL? Good anyway.
