COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Session Ale with orange zest.

Like the tension and relief of a day spent flitting between laying on sand under the beating sun and bobbing on the ocean’s cool surf, summer session drinking needs leisurely contrast. With Beach we find that midpoint where Kolsch yeasts fruity character matches its lean dryness and where an amber’s roundness gets pulled taught by cracker notes. The hops’ fruity aromatics flow, and the bitterness ebbs, with a swash of orange zest to be clean and lean, bitter and bright. Drink Beach and be chill.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2021 DATE: June 26, 2021... OCCASION: a night of The Office with the family, in between vacation days... GLASSWARE: HopDevil nonick... pours a yellow, peach-tinted, hazy body that sports a half-finger of sudsy white head that settles to a smear... robust orange peel, grassy herbs, cracker malts, and hints of vanilla, resin and citrus... at such a low ABV, it suggests a singular effect with some varies elements.... this drinks tartly, smooth and easy as the label pleasant at the teeth, while its finish is dry and acidic... lively and engaging enough, with a slight creaminess that evokes orange juice... breezy, fitting for the summer and low in impact, this works well as a refresher--glad I saved some for the upcoming heat wave... though not as impactful as other Carton products, this serves its purpose well...

Fruity scent. A little fruity with a little citrus in the taste. Okay bitterness that fills the upper part of the mouth to a weak moment. Okay beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Pint can from WW. Nose effusively orange, leaning into creamsicle but grittier and hop-derived. Pour hazy yellow with a soapy bright white head. Taste medium-strong bitter and dry, almost bone-dry with strong resin, but a touch of residual sweetness builds from the hops and orange peel. Hint of spice, full soft body with medium and appropriate carbonation. Hops are putting out a spicy lemon cleanser taste, and the finish, as it often is for me with Carton beers, is sea water salty. Salty, bitter, briny aftertaste lingers and is not attractive. [2017.10.30: 2.0]
