COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Collaboration with Aspen Brewing Company. They brewed a super malty wort that we split. We used our farmhouse culture to ferment this. The result is basically what you’d expect. Rich and malty but dry, more acidic than any farmhouse we’ve done. I’m really excited about this.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2020 A 750ml corked and caged bottle, bottled on 14th April 2016. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass. It was a cola brown colour with an orange hue, and a one finger tanned head that settled slowly to a thin cap while leaving some nice lacing. Aromas tart, cherry, plum, red grape, oak, caramel, lemon zest, and a splash of herbal notes. Tastes sour, tart, lemon zest, herbal, cherry, plum, red grape, vinous, oak, caramel, and dark malt notes. Medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall haven’t had the opportunity to try many Bière de Garde’s, but this was an enjoyable dark sour beer with a balanced malty, tart, and fruity mix.

Bottle, pours a cola brown with massive beige head and lacing. Notes of vinegar, Sante dark sour, cranberry, roast, cinnamon raisin, grape skins, lactic acidity and Casey funk. Medium bodied. Really nice for the style

Bottle @ home (6/30/2015 vintage). Dark reddish brown appearance with a dissipating tan head. Aroma has dark chocolate, caramel, and nutty notes that are totally foreign to any other Casey beers I've had. There's a little bit of fruit but it's more akin to figs and dates. Somewhat tart flavor with even a hint of cheese. Somewhat refreshing and a touch juicy. Kind of fun but below average compared to other Casey releases.

A little acidic. Could have sworn there was fruit in this thing but nope. Just malt and yeast. Really solid.

750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased at Aspen Wine and Spirits in Aspen, Colorado. Label on bottle with Bottled on 2/24/17. The pour is hazed brown copper with a ½ inch light tan head. The aroma is toffee, nut malt, funk yeast and oak barrel towards the back. The sweetness of the malt is the primary story here. The taste is a nice blend of the nut toffee malt and the slightly funky house yeast, with the oak barrel drying out the finish. The palate is medium bodied, soft natural carbonation, dry barrel finish. Well executed.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2017 750 ml bottled 2/24/17 and listed at 8%, purchased at Small Batch Liquors. Brown appearance with a tan head. Aroma of toasted grain, tart fruits, nutty malts, light oak and hints of earth and vanilla. Similar flavor, rich, malty, mildly acidic/sour and lightly vinous. Smooth, mild puckering feel with a lingering, light dry finish. Nice.

Bottle shared on site. Dark brown, with a big, bubbly, beige head. Rye, toffee, dates, licorice, and chalk. Sweet and malty, with a touch of tartness. Medium body, smooth and creamy. This is an oddity for Casey; a malt forward beer. Quite tasty and unique.

Bottle. Brown pour with a kaki head. Nice sour notes give way to caramel malts. Oak and barrel backbeats. Good body and mouthfeel.

750 mL bottle. Pours deep brown. Medium white head. Smells very nutty and malty. Toasty malt. Kinda nutty. Tastes surprisingly sour. Lemon tartness that becomes deeper from the dark malts. Almost becomes like a sour cherry, but never quite broaches the fruit territory. Toasty malt. Pretty sour. Well carbonated. Medium body. It’s not what I expected. Dark malts dominate and it never really melds together.
