Big grapefruit aroma. Light golden color with a moderate sized white head. I’ll look forward to this one in bottles in 2013. 3/12

12oz bottle to tulip. Pours hazy orange, white sticky head. Aroma of fig, pine, raisin, bread. Taste of same with some caramel malts. Big flavors. Good for a session. I just prefer more pine and citrus.

Tap at Busters. Rich golden yellow pour. White clingy head. Floral and herbal. Assertive hoppiness. Good.

Bottle. Clear orange pour with a white wispy head. Nice citrus hop bite - some floral hops as well. Not harsh though. Pretty good stuff!

Nice hop forward profile that switches over to a caramel malt finish. Made well, but not my bag.

This is a solid session IPA. Pretty typical for the style w/ a sort of earthy floral hop character in the nose I’m not strictly in love w/ but there is something about the mildly resinous bitterness in the finish that really gets me. It makes the beer drink bigger than it is w/o weighing it down and hurting drink-ability. I cannot get enough of low gravity hoppy beers so if you are anything like me, you’ll probably get one well w/ this too.

It’s October so probably a little late in the year to be picking up a summer seasonal but this has held up pretty well. This is a great big, hoppy brew w/ only 4.5% alcohol. That’s a way of brewing I can really get behind. This pours golden orange in the glass w/ a long lasting but thin head of very fine white bubbles, which leave behind lots of lace. The nose is pungent and piny, hops all the way. There is a touch of sweetness up front but it wanes to a dry, crisp finish w/ loads of resinous hop bitterness. Texture is light and drinkable but the strong flavor keeps it interesting. This is very well done across the board.

12 ounce bottle. Some deep orange color. Smooth and crisp session with a nice hop profile. Good.

Draught @ Albion. Cloudy rich yellow with small foamy off-white head, grassy hops aroma, low carbonation, lightly bitter taste, thin body, medium bitter finish. Smooth but not spectacular.

Drought. Reddish amber with creamy off-white head, crisp hops aroma, hoppy taste with low carbonation, floral hops flavor dominating the aftertaste, following a longish finish. Unexpectedly nice session brew.

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly murky but bright golden color with lots of visible carbonation. The lightly creamy white head lingers and leaves a good amount of sticky lacing. Nose is very faint dank hops, maybe with a bit of onion and resin. Taste is bitter citrus hops and a hint of malt, like a dry hoppy pilsner. Pretty thin mouthfeel and almost no aftertaste... kind of tasty, kind of refreshing, but for a session IPA I prefer a little less bitterness in the hop profile.

Bottle - When I go for a session IPA, I want something clean with a dry malt base. Something that lets the hops shine. This is a sweet, malty, soap bomb with some mild astringency and bitterness on the finish--if you can get through the malt. Oily and over-carbonated. Just no. This was a very short session.

On tap at Brickhouse - Pours hazy amber with a foamy off white head. Nose is juicy citrus, with some garlic and onion notes. Malt is present, but not pungent. Taste starts the same, with the citrus hops rearing their head, a firm bready malt base, and transitioning into garlic and grassy hops. Pretty dank. Not as crisp as I’d like, and a bit heavy on the hop profile to be very sessionable for me. A bit watery.

12 oz bottle pours hazy golden with a white head. Good retention. Aromas of citrus, a touch of onion, earthiness. Flavor is great. Bittersweet. Dry finish. A great session.
