UPDATED: FEB 11, 2018 Month old can > tulip A: Clear medium yellow with a short-lived head that fell to nothing. Big slow bubbles but nothing to leave any lace. S: Bready scent with some earthy/musty and herbal/leafy hop notes. T: Musty white grape flavor with some sweet bread and an off-putting sour note, maybe turning a little fruity. M: Medium light with low to average carbonation and a lingering sweetness on the finish. O: Below average overall and not cheap.

Thanks altonbrownd for the can! Poured into a snifter showing neon yellow with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows a lot of sweet lager malts. Caramel with a very slight corn profile. The palate is lightly carbonated and medium bodied. Flavors of light bready malt and a light pilsner-like bitterness on the finish. Drinks like a German lager without a lot of character.

appearance: lightly hazed yellow, short fizzy bright white head. aroma: light corn, general citrus, some grass. taste: as the aroma indicated, plus some crackery notes. finish: clean and crisp, slightly sweet. notes: Not a ton of character to this. One of my favorite styles, so I look a little harder at it. Adequate. Draught at Alamo in Ashburn.

Malt-heavy with a little bit of hops. Haze in the glass, and a home-brew aroma. Low carbonation.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a small soapy head. Notes of marshmallows, life cereal, and some earth.

Can at the soulless bar in a soulless Hyatt in soulless "Crystal City" (a business park next to DC Reagan airport that makes suburban Maryland look hip and inviting).

Light orange pour, mildly hoppy nose. Bready flavors, touch of sourness as befits, somewhat strongly hopped. Passable.

12 oz can shared with ebone1988 from Dumpster Day Box No. 2. The pour is a darker golden yellow with a thin cap of head that falls to a thicker collar. The aroma is by good. It's like a bag of sweaty hockey gear. The back end is more of a sweet metal and just not good at all. It's pretty rough. There seems to be a little maltiness and it's kind of weird. Sweet lager-y and just not good. The flavor is very sweet. There is a maltiness and a strong metallic tendency that I definitely don't care for at all. It's got some kind of sweetness that sucks. This isn't what I'm looking for in a kolsch at all. The mouth feel is heavier and syrupy with a lack of good carbonation and a lingeringly sweet and metallic offering on the back end. Ugh.

Can shared with koleminer20, out of Dumpster Day box #2. Aroma is sweet corn, metallic, slightly fruity, sweaty, not good. Appearance is golden, hazy, white, hazy. Taste is metallic, sweet corn, grain, slight pine, lots of metal, just really bad. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, metallic aftertaste, bleh. Overall, this is a basic kölsch, not good.

Draft at Buz and Ned’s in Richmond. Cereal malts, light citrus, grainy, crackery, bitter finish. Meh.
