ChainGangGuy (5514) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JAN 11, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2022 Appearance: Pours a golden-yellow body, everso slightly hazy with a lofty, pillowy, white head. Smell: Spent grain bread, cooking sugars, fruity accents of banana, pear sprinkled with a little vanilla sugar. Sternly spicy, also floral with an all-around musty yeastiness and some noted booze. Taste: Light breadiness, a little membrillo, green 'nana, vanilla and rock candy with an encapsulating spicy, even minty vibe. It's sugary aspects are deftly cut by the perfumy florals, phenolics and hooch. In amongst the sweet, the heat and spice is some musty, soiled yeast character. Dry, spiced finish with a final hint of white grape. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-high carbonation. Overall: Solid stuff.

Demens (813) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 10, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 0.33l bottle. Cloudy golden colour with ever lasting huge fluffy white head. Aroma: Floral notes with barrel aromas, banana, honey, nutmeg. Taste: Brutal sweet malty start with honey tones, almost champagne like caracter, spicey, creamy and yeasty with a fresh, hoppy mouthfeel. Has a quite oily texture. Full body with fizzy carbonation. Long lasting sweet, spicey yet gently bitter/dry finish. Masterwork.

Marko (11972) - Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC - DEC 31, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 Bottle from CroCraft. Hazy yellow-golden body, white head. Pungent aroma, pear and spices initially, honeyish, but also yeasty, not always in a way I prefer. Leaner taste, honeyish notes, very, very minty of all things, pear esters again, lightly meany yeastiness in the finish, slightly up front, but still, pretty good. Pleasant carbonation. This is good stuff, but not in perfect shape perhaps.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2021 330 ml bottle from Alko. Hazy yellow. Sweet aniseed, candy and wheat with a hint of bread. Herbs, leaves, malt body. Bitter, slick and oily. Really interesting yet Chimay to the core.

jjsint (6133) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 20, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 20, 2021 330ml bottle at the West End Brewery, Leicester. Light gold and clear with an uneven white head and visible carbonation. Booze on the aroma is quite sharp, with wild grass and sugary yeast notes. Tastes sweet with honeyed bready yeast with a bitter hoppy note nearer the long dry finish. Heavy, heavy carbonation. It's pretty amazing but maybe a bit too boozy for its own good. Always great to get a new (old) beer from Chimay, so I won't grumble about the slight issues. A beer to savour.

Tide (8501) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 19, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2021 Bottle (0.33) at Hilpeä Hauki. Golden color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, ripe fruits, hops, malts, earthy notes, spices and grass. Bitter finish with citrus, ripe fruits, hops, earthy notes, spices and grass. Excellent Belgian strong ale.

BillKismet (4650) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 16, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2021 Hazy golden blonde. Estery and yeasty nose with a gingery presence that must be a mix of the coriander and cardamom. Medium to full-bodied with a gingery-cardamom, bready yeastiness throughout. The gingery quality endows this brew with a spritely quality.
