ironprog (154) - Florida, USA - DEC 30, 2018UPDATED: DEC 30, 2018 1 pint 6 oz. bottle. AROMA: Strong scent of caramel, chocolate, and brown sugar. APPEARANCE: Pours an opaque black with a tight, tan head that dissipates very slowly TASTE: Sweet with flavors of dark chocolate and brown sugar. There are hints of coffee and vanilla, too. PALATE: Thick texture with a very smooth mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Finish is mainly of chocolate that lingers for a long time, and if followed by a quick bout of alcohol flavor OVERALL: This is a fantastic beer! The only nit-pick I can come up with is that I find it to be a little 'soft'. I think if it had just an teeny bit more 'bite, then it would be perfect. But who knows, maybe if they made it with more 'bite', I might not like it as much as I think I would. The world may never know. :)

Slipstream (3414) - USA - NOV 10, 2018Why have coffee and brandy and a cigar, when you can just have one of these? It makes me think it might have been in brewed up in some swampy backwoods region, sometime around midnight, perhaps spiced up with handfuls of mushrooms, roots, and herbs. There are still plenty of hops too; it has a sharp presence, and makes a big splash on the palate. The aroma features lots of espresso, malts, kahlua, and dark chocolate. A big, strong brew for sure!
