UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 deep amber-copper color; malty aroma with some fruity notes; bready caramel malt flavor with some dark fruit notes and hints of raisin; smooth and just a bit sweet

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2021 Can. Dirty bronze, pock-marked head of foam. Sweet candied aroma. Drinks with a little more finesse, easy to drink. Many Wee Heavy's can be a little too robust for my delicate palate. This is more subtle, approachable. But still comes with the requisite sweet caramel. (#8128, 12/2021)

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2021 From holiday pack watching sports. Orange pour darker hued. Nose is light caramel and dark fruit. Tatss of candied plumbs, caramel, cherry, leather. Medium mouthfeel. Some aweetness.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2021 12 Beers of Christmas pack. The aroma is sweet and fruity with hops but less sweet and strong than many Wee Heavies. The appearance is copper with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma with a touch of butter scotch and paper. The palate is smooth. Overall it's good but like a session-able version of a Wee Heavy.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2021 Leather and some heather. Murky copper pour without much head. Dust and resin. Light sweetness in finish. Some caramel. Can from Christmas case.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2021 Part of a holiday variety pack. can stamped Best by today's date. Aromas are Amber malt, solvents, circus peanuts and a hint of toffee.taste is moderately sweet upfront balanced by carbonation and a little bitterness. Malt comes out a little more but still there's the solvent and something else artificial.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2021 For a Scotch Ale this is a very good beer! Very nice strong tight body. Very smooth. Fruit flavors that well blended. Low carbonation. Very good!

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2020 (Can from the 12 Beers of Christmas Pack - Day 05) Disappearing large beige head and a hazy copper body. Aroma is moderate to heavy sweet; caramel, candy sugar, dried fruity notes, some wood. Medium to full bodied, texture is slightly oily. Sweet malt flavor and pronounced alcohol (my can says only 8% ABV, though Ratebeer says 10%). More on the flavor: dried fruit, light wood, caramel and toffee; finish is a little weak.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2020 Can (Best by 1/31/22) pour from the 12 Beers of Christmas Pack from The Lazy Dog Beer Shoppe. Appearance is deeply hazy orange/amber with fine particulate mist, nice sparkle, finger-width khaki head with decent retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong caramel malt. Taste follows aroma with pear/fruit contribution. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, no hint of alcohol, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a good, standard representative of the style.

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2020 Can from the 12 Beers of Christmas Pack - Day 05. Poured a dark golden color, some light orange hue. Medium sized, quicky dissipating head on it. Aroma was lots of caramel malts, toffee, sweet. Flavor was grain, lots of caramel, some cherry. Rich. Not a huge fan of the style, but this was fine.
