BeerdedDave (3893) - Beckley, West Virginia, USA - DEC 31, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 black with a tan head; dry roasted malt aroma with some citrusy hop notes; nice dry, roasted malt flavor with a good deal of citrusy hops - not quite at the level of a black IPA, but approaching that; overall a pretty decent beer

Jow (6235) - The Hop, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 15, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2021 Happy to have taste buds back. Dark pour and decent head. Nose is ash and chocolate. Tastes of ash, chocolate, some fruits, molasses. Dry and lighter bodied. Nice drinking stout. Hops lighten it a touch.

nick76 (4540) - Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 12, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2021 12 beers of Christmas. The aroma is hoppy and deeply roasted with coffee and rather dry. The appearance is dark brown with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma with a dry oatmeal finish. The palate is smooth. Overall surprising for an 8% the alcohol is well hidden. Great stout if you like them hoppy and dry.

Braudog (8154) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - DEC 9, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2021 Can. Midnight black, of course. Thin but holding off-white head. Chalky, cocoa-laden aroma. Interesting drink. The baseline is a rich java, but the bigger wavetop is sweet and tart. Interesting blended style. (#8111, 12/2021)

puboflyons (4654) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 26, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2021 From a 12 oz. can with a BB date of 01/31/22. Charcoal black to jet black pour underneath a modest, lasting tan head. Sweet roasted malts nose with hints of coffee and an earthy and floral backdrop. About a medium body. The taste is also roasted and sweet but there is an odd cardboard like character. Dry finish. Booze is low profile.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2020 Can. Canned on 11/27/2017, drank on 3/21/2020. Dark heavy looking pour. Palate isn’t as heavy as it looks though. Beige head with lots of carbonation. Quite bitter and dry. Roasty flavor.

teddybeer (5525) - Madrid, SPAIN - JAN 1, 2019

Near black pour with soapy khaki head. Nose starts out good, Rasputin like in it's balance of roasted dark malts and hops, maybe going a little too hoppy as it warms. The body is thin for the style, and the flavor is immediately more "decent" black ipa than imperial stout. Didn't really care for it.

Darwenus (1295) - Virginia, USA - SEP 13, 2018
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2018 Pours dark brown to Black with lots of sudsy head. The aroma is typical stout at first, but you get the hops in a pronounced way when you breathe deep. The hops are all over the finish of the malty flavor. I think I get the mosaic hops in particular. The roasty malt and the hops compete on the tongue and I don’t think of quite works as well as I had hoped it would.
