UPDATED: JAN 7, 2022 Jet black with a tan head. Aroma of sticky malt fruit. Flavour is barrel stout and fruit, dark roast, fruit malt base, brandy finish.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 35,5cl can from Alko, Helsinki. Pours pitch black with a modest, beige head. Roasty and somewhat fruity and vinous too, with notes of prunes and hint of cognac. Fairly smooth and desserty, warming and enjoyable as expected, but not quite up there with the usual ones from Põhjala themselves.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2021 Can from Total Wine in Orlando, FL. Aroma is slight booze, dark fruit, red wine, bittersweet chocolate. Taste is thin dark fruits, prunes, bitterish cocoa. A lot less rich and flavorful than I expected.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2021 Can. Black and oily. Quickly dispersing head. The prunes are most evident in the aroma and flavor, riding right up front on a distinctive, boozy, choco-porter beer. Not for the faint of heart. (#8114, 12/2021)

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2021 Odrobina śliwki zanurzona w gorzkiej czekoladzie i kawie. Nuty beczki i koniaku, ciało gładkie, a lekka paloność ładnie uzupełnia wrażenia smakowe. Rewelacja.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2021 Can at home, black beer, small head. Aroma is malt, raisins, vanilla, cognac, wood, fruit, plums. Taste is the same, sweet, chocolate, malt. Long chocolate bittersweet aftertaste with a hint of cognac. very nice.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2021 33 cl blik. Zwart bier met licht bruin schuim. Geur: vanille, noten, hout, alcoholisch. Smaak: zoet, alcoholisch, karamel, cognac, fruitig, wel ja pruim. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: alcohol verwarmend, wat droog.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2021 Opaque black color with tanned head. Aroma has ripe fruits, plums, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Taste is malty sweet with long sweet aftertaste. Flavors of roasted malt, plums, ripe fruits and coffee.

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2021 Can from Piwne Mosty, pours blackish color. Nose is a lot of plums, caramel, cognac, syrup, toffee, alcohol, roasted malts. Taste has a bit lager yeast in it, a lot of sweet and fruity notes, some burnt malts. A bit alcohol in it as well. Rich and complex beer.
