UPDATED: JUN 22, 2020 Pours a rusty reddish brown with a tan head. Sweet aroma of molasses. Medium body with a smooth creamy oily texture. Smooth with a big malty taste and a syrupy sweetness similar to a barley wine. Finishes smooth with a lingering malty toffee aftertaste. Very enjoyable.

superspak (9600) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - FEB 28, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2019 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/7/2019. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper/amber/light reddish color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick cream/soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Insane appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light toffee/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light toffee/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light toffee/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 9.3% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic imperial red. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV, with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Amazing Simcoe, Centennial, Amarillo profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balancing dark/bready English malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing west coast feeling style example all around.

Thanks to greyman for this. Pours rusty reddish brown with a ssmall beige head. Aroma is earthy hops with a caramel malt. Taste is a big pine and earthy hops with sweet caramel malt. This is right up my alley. I wish I had an option to this around me. It might be all I ever drink. Just great.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2018 This is one of about 6 I’ve had of this so far and all are great. This is up with the Bodhi as their best imo. Nose is bit sweet but pour and everything is dead on for style. Body is candy and dark fruit and bit of toffee. Pours red as expected. Alcohol shines thru a bit at 9 or so but malt mellows it out along with hop burst throughout. Really good as fresh beer. Really surprised it’s not higher on here but no new ratings In last 2 years.

Draft at Brew Dog-Birmingham, 6/1/16.  Darker amber color.  Tan head and heavy lacing.  String malt presence with caramel, toffee, and a bit of toast.  Hops and booze come through as well.  Heavy malty and boozy DIPA.  Could probably use a little balance, but not bad overall.

Fin (15185) - Attenkirchen, Bavaria, GERMANY - JUN 5, 2016
Keg at Brewdog, Birmingham, Saturday 4th June 2016 Pours reddy brown with a creamy white head. Really thick in the mouth, alcohol shows but doesn’t intrude. Very much in the vein of an American IPA, hoppy with almost a floral edge. Really good. A7 A4 T7 P5 Ov14 3.7
