UPDATED: MAY 12, 2021 This is a backlog rating from 2008 from a bottle, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are a mix of spices, ginger, pepper, lemon lime, pale malts, not my thing.

This reminded me of a lighter/less bodied version of their Mermaid pilsner. Good flavor.. would be great for a hot summer day, although I'm drinking on a cooler winter night. Appearance and aroma is kind of weak, but that is really my only complaint here. Flavor and mouthfeel win here.

Pours a bright golden yellow with fizzy head. Aromas of tropical fruits and some citrus peel. Funky orange/lemon peel flavors with a nice woody funk.

Old rating. Cloudy gold. Citrus, big herbal, wheaty. I remember being underwhelmed.

"Oddly spiced and lightly hopped...not my idea of a good time. Very mellow citrus hops and an odd combo of ginger, herbs and generic tasting sweet malt. Blah..."

It has a hazy pale yellow color with lots of super tiny yeast partials floating in it. Up top sits a small one finger thick dull white head. It is thick, creamy and long lasting. This hang time makes for lots of slick spotty lacing all the way down the glass as I drink. The aroma has an odd but pleasant sweet spicy character like ginger and black liquorish. There are no hints of hops, just spice and maybe some light malt. There is a light malt base with a mix of citrus notes, black liquorish/fennel, light ginger notes and some hops. The hops have a complementary spicy, earthy and lightly floral quality it them. The finish is dry with a cool touch of spice lingering on the tongue. The carbonation is light but still quite active on the palate giving it a smooth slick texture.

Pours a golden color with white head. Spice, yeast, and raw wheat on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more wheat.

Nice clear golden pour, good white head. Mild bready aroma. Taste is spicy. Fairly light body, moderate to high carbonation.

Holy crap !! This isn’t worthy of being put on a shelf. 1 for effort.

The color of this beer is a cloudy golden with a large white head and lots of dark sediment floating throughout, and the aroma is a weird blend of bread malts and artificial lemon. The taste is also weird due to how you can taste the artificial lemon through the overall mildly sweet and slightly sour flavor. The mouthfeel combines a medium body, slick texture, average carbonation, sweet yet fairly short finish.
