Pours a dark gold with small fluffy white head, nice retention and lacing.
Aroma of grains, bread, citrus and spice.
Taste is quite doughy and bready at first then citrus, grass and spice hop profile comes in finishing with some burnt toast and toffee notes. Nice balance between malts and hops here, fairly complex for a bitter.
Light to medium bodied, slightly chewy.
Excellent bitter.

Taste is lightly sweet but rapidly bitter as the Challenger hops take charge. Palate is medium bodied high carbonation which impacts both transition and finish .
Mouth coating. I wish I could compare the cask version and is this a W Sussex score? Overall a good example of the style.

Feels like an old school bitter just peeping into the crafty world now, back then more revolutionary, balanced malty base, medium bitterness and just a hint of fruity hop. Supremely drinkable.

Nice aroma of biscuits, malt and a hint of lemon. Pours golden amber with a small transient white head. Medium carbonation. Malts and biscuit again in the mouth, but now with some bitter hoppiness, which lingers in the finish. A really good traditional bitter- it’s nice to have a beer which tastes of beer for a change !
