labeerinthum (5897) - Milano, ITALY - APR 28, 2021
UPDATED: APR 28, 2021 Bottiglia.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2021 33cl bottle at home from store. Labeled as 'Pater Dubbel' just on the outside packaging. Pours a really dark to almost black mahogany, which looks more reddish under direct light with beige frothy head that quickly disappears. Aroma is malt, belgian yeast, toffee/caramel, fruity and with some herbal note at first. Pleasant also a bit boozy. Taste is mostly sweet with a good spiciness and extremely slightly bitter in the finish, only after some sips though. Notes of malt, herbal/fruity spiciness, lots of sweet belgian yeast, nuts, plum caramel and licorice.. maybe a bit too sweet at times but very appreciable. Carbonation is medium high and fizzy, medium body and light mouthfeel, texture is watery, smooth. Nice warming alcohol at 7.5% abv. Very easy to drink and good tasting.

flying_pig (2680) - IRELAND - DEC 28, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2020 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£2.79) Very dark mahogany, bordering on black with a thick, foamy head that's beige with outstanding retention. Sweet & slightly malty, some alcohol but plenty of caramel & toffee but it's balanced too. The taste is similar, there's maybe a touch more alcohol showing but it's sweet & sticky with lots of caramel again & some nice bread malts. It's a medium bodied, smooth & softly carbonated beer that's boozy but still seemed easy to drink.
