Martinsh (1348) - Crewe, Cheshire, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2021UPDATED: JUN 2, 2021 Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford – as Cotleigh Old Buzzard. Pours a dark reddish brown with a small cream head, good lacing and low carbonation. Aroma is creamy with roasted malts. Oddly enough in the mouth the first impression is juicy fruitiness, but that is quickly swallowed by peppers and spices (liquorice, aniseed, olde english spangles). The roasted malts are still there with hints of chocolate and toffee. This is what an Old Ale should taste like.
