COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Artisan ale brewed with fresh white sage and lemongrass We at Crooked Stave find solace playing in the Colorado Mountains and possess a great pride for the place we call home. Paying homage to our great state and the even larger Western Region of the US, we brewed Colorado WildSage, a Brett Saison incorporating fresh herbs, including white sage and lemongrass. Brewed with the backcountry in mind, Colorado WildSage is dominated by a bright floral aroma, soft herbal notes and a crisp Brettanomyces bite from primary fermentation and further bottle conditioning with our house mixed yeast culture. Brewed with all Colorado ingredients in order to deliver a little bit of the high country to everyone who decides to share in this beer with us.

Kita (3655) - Koper, SLOVENIA - SEP 17, 2021
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2021 Can, 0.355l. Aroma is vinous, musty, and funky with sage note. Pours cloudy golden color with thin soapy white head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts refreshing citrusy, grainy and vinous, following is funky and herbal, mouthfeel is mild spicy, while finish is average bitter. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Wild and luxurious…

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2021 Pale blond colour with fluffy head. Aroma has sage but the lemongrass makes a bit like bathroom cleaner. Flavour is slightly better balanced. Quite floral. Could do with some and sharpness.

heno (810) - DENMARK - JUN 22, 2021
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2021 Tap at Fermentoren, Copenhagen. Hazy yellow with green tint, no head. Peculiar herbal aroma, noticeable sage, not sure about the lemongrass. Reminds me of a Sour twist on a Witbier with coriander and orange. Dry with mild sourness. Clean finish, not at all bitter. Low carbonation. Interesting!

TET (5035) - Kaarina, FINLAND - MAR 29, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2021 A light yellow, hazy beer, a head is medium and white. Aroma has fruitness, apple, light bretta, lemongrass. Taste has fruitness of lemon, light tartness and bretta, quite dry, hint of herbal notes. Medium bodied. Pretty nice, the bretta could be stronger.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2020 Copenhagen 28/112020. 35, 5 cl can from Mikkeller web-shop. White snowy landscape with pines on the can. Pours unclear, pale yellow with a small white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sour odor mingling with herbal fumes. Citrus and lemongrass. Touch of tart berries. A bit lemonade-ish. Sage and thyme. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft almost flat texture. Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a medium strong sourness. Aftertaste is sour and a bit thin. Lingers shortly. Finish is semidry with a herbal touch. Great nose but a bit thin in flavor. Overall enjoyable. .

DocuDrinks (1555) - Riga, LATVIA - OCT 18, 2020
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2020 I heard this is good, but I hate sour beers... I will give it a try. Smell- weak, herbal, some citrus. Foam-weak citrus, faint sourness, faint bitter notes. Head is small, white color. Appearance-brewer bottle cap, apart from that simple label, I do like that cap, but not enough to give appearance bonus, will give to overall if it comes to a split score. Bit dirty, orange color. From- snifter Taste - weak, herbal, some citrus, some bitterness, very faint sourness. Sourness is very faint, and generally seems quite herbal, don't hate this, but, would love something more also. not great, not terrible.

Cybercat (10436) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 29, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2020 Pours hazy topaz with a thick and fairly persistent parchment head. Aroma gives lemon and other tart citrus, and crisp fresh malt. Flavor delivers tart and slightly sweet citrus, mainly grapefruit and lemon, plus crisp malt, herbal and piney hop notes. Texture offers good body, lively fizz, and a tart fruity and herbal finish. Colorado wild sage high.

hman43 (3700) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - AUG 31, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 31, 2019 It pours clear yellow with a white head. Head retention is very good. Powerful herbal aromas lead by the sage and lemongrass. There are some sour and funk in the background. It also has some doughy elements well in the background. Sage and lemongrass flavors are very strong with other herbal elements at play. There is some bread and doughy flavors in the background in support. There is also some subtle spiceness as well. The brett is restrained and enhances the flavors rather than dominating them. It has a medium body. Overall, the flavors are quite vibrant as is the aromas making this one great beer.

cheap (7939) - Land of Taxes, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 20, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2019 OK, I'm really looking forward to this $3 can from vintage. If it is what it says, it should taste great! High hopes, like the ant and the rubbertree plant. Near clear pale with a nice foamy head, almost goes crag. Oddart nose like a typical say-zee. First taste is disappointing, tartness is hard to find behind the saison farm effects. Becomes medicinal in the middle. Yes, its over seven and you know it, not bones about it. They should put more lemongrass in this one. Needs to be restyled as an imperial saison, heheheh. Difficult finish, wheew.
