COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Bretta is our 100% Brettanomyces Whitebier that was just released this week! Not only is St. Bretta an evolution of Wild Wild Brett Orange, but also it will be ever-changing depending on the fresh citrus available that season. For our spring release we decided to brew St. Bretta with fresh Minneola Tangelo. Each seasonal release of St. Bretta will have a diverse range of citrus fruit added to keep the beer fresh and exciting (the summer release was brewed with blood oranges)!

Keg at CASK Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico. Mid- to dark gold with a small white head. Overripe oranges and grapefruit, with a light tart funk. Tastes slightly sour and funky, with a stale doughy character, infused with but nor overrun by kumquat peel and notes of clove. Very soft carbonation. Very well put together, but perhaps a bit understated.

Bitterbill (2959) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - MAY 24, 2017
Pours hazy straw gold, small but firm head of foam. Smells Witty (usual Belgian spices and yeast) aroma of Brett. Strong but delightful horseblanket taste with assertive but somewhat diminutive in comparison Belgian yeast and spices. Bit of bitterness, no sweet notes. There’s the cloves..seem to pop in and out depending on the sip . Nice mouthfeel, very nice beer overall.

2017-04-20. Lightly hazy dark yellow body with a modest off-white head. 3+ Aroma is fruity, not specifically citrusy unless I look for it. Flavour has interesting lightly tangy sour citrus, tangerine/orange. Odd but pleasant. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Enjoyable but less prominently citrusy than I had hoped. Fairly certain this was the Spring version but not 100% sure. 7-3/7/3/16 Bottled at Birreria Volo, Toronto.
