bhensonb (20185) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 12, 2022UPDATED: JAN 12, 2022 Bomber from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a very slight, very transient rusty tan head. My first thought was cod liver oil - based on dosing when I was a child. Deeper reflection shows wood, chocolate, bourbon, toasted/burnt malt. Full bodied. It's almost, but not quite sticky. Sort of chocolate fudge, bourbon and wood and toasted/burnt malt. That CLO thing came back to my mind, but I think that was based on 'texture'. Heat burns the back of the palate on each quaff, but that's acceptable. There's more to this than I can parse - my palate is rapidly reaching fatigue levels. One heck of a big roasty/toasty beer.

juiceisloose (3665) - Windermere, Florida, USA - NOV 25, 2021UPDATED: NOV 25, 2021 22 oz bottle. Pours nearly pitch black in color and capped by a small tan layer of foam that fades quickly to the body below. The aroma shows notes of rich, dark chocolate, malted rye, some dark fruits, molasses, and toasted caramel over a dark roasted malt base with further notes of bourbon soaked oak. The flavor follows with rich, dark chocolate, spicy rye, toasted caramel, and earthy roast up front along with bourbon, oak laden vanilla, and a firm bitterness on the back end. There is a nice boozy warmth as well. Nearly full bodied and slick on the palate with soft carbonation that leads to a bitter sweet, dark chocolate, rye, and bourbon oak on the finish with some lingering warmth. Pretty tasty stuff overall and a really nice blend of Barrel aged stouts with good depth.
PhillyCraft (11988) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 21, 2021UPDATED: NOV 21, 2021 LCI. really thick mouthfeel. Drinks like the syrupy sludge on the bottom of chocolate milk or something similar. Prob my least favorite of all the stouts I had this trip.It might have been the end or start of a keg. Will try again
